I think I see the problem here. You believe the government LETS people do things. It’s the other way around. The U.S. Constitution, written by “We the people”, granted the government certain powers. It didn’t grant them powers to infringe upon our right to keep and bear arms.
A large group in our government and of our citizens still refuse to admit that gun control and gun violence are correlated; it’s an antiquated, backwards viewpoint that needs to be extinguished.
It would appear to be a safe bet that Arabian doesn’t understand that correlation coefficients can be negative or positive and what that would mean. It’s certain, from reading the entire article, they don’t know the facts about dramatically increased number of firearms in this country is simultaneous with dramatic declines in violent crime rates. With such an erroneous base Arabian then concludes that contrary viewpoints need to be extinguished.
What do you have in mind Alex? If the shadow banning doesn’t work will you move on to reeducation camps?
It doesn’t really matter. The answer is no. And long before we run out of ammunition saying no to Arabian’s plans their viewpoint will have grown dim and died.—Joe]
Either gun possession makes people stupid irrational cowards or stupid irrational cowards are drawn to gun possession
I’ve never spoken with a single gun owner who was by any measure, a decent intelligent human being. They’re either wannabe terrorists planning on killing law enforcement or terrified of a situation that could be prevented with locks and motion lights.
Creatures that worthless and evil are undeserving of living among actual human beings.

[I thought I would start out the new year with something particularly good. Enjoy!
This is just another example of someone who thinks they have the wisdom, and should have the power, to decide which groups of people lives and who should be put to death.
Also note that Facebook hasn’t taken down this hateful post. This post meets their standards.
And now you know why the right to keep and bear arms is so important.—Joe]
What National Review’s “Republicans in Name Only” don’t understand is that “freedom!” trumps federalism. This act will free people from places like Mississippi from having to learn about other states’ laws when they visit those states. And the GOP really has a valid point here. Learning isn’t one of the strengths of the great state of Mississippi — it ranks 49th in the U.S. for the educational attainment of its citizens. Having to learn about another state’s laws before visiting there with a concealed, highly dangerous weapon is clearly too much of an imposition on residents of a state who have trouble graduating high school and college at the same rate as other Americans.
He doesn’t stop with cherry picking his data to reach is conclusion. He conflates speed limits and other rules of the road with a concealed carry license. A fairly reasonable comparison would driving licenses and concealed carry licenses. Explaining how “full faith and credit” does not apply is required too, but Strass has a narrative to fit and wouldn’t want to hear of a fair comparison. Implying gun owners are uneducable and being smug is more important than truth to him.
One could conclude that Strauss is a bigot and make a good case for that. But you should also leave open the option he has evil intent and put him on your list for consideration of prosecution.—Joe]
Let’s consider the case made by the NRA, its Congressional hired hands, the majority of the Supreme Court, and various right wing pundits who claim the Second Amendment is not simply about state militias but guarantees the unfettered right of everyone to own, carry, trade and eventually shoot someone with a gun.
Ed Asner & Ed Weinberger December 16, 2017 Sorry, NRA: The U.S. was actually founded on gun control [This is what they believe our, and the Supreme Court’s, opinion of the right to keep and bear arms is. You know they have a weak case when they start out with a straw man argument.
They continue with claims that the individual rights conclusion of Heller decision was a completely new interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. They claim it ignored 200 years of precedent and historical context when all nine justices agreed it referred to an individual right. Yes, only five justices agreed that D.C. had infringed upon the right but all nine agreed the 2nd Amendment protected an individual right. Apparently a couple of people who are best known for their work on the television series “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, a work of fiction, think they know constitutional law and history better than the nine justices on the U.S Supreme Court in 2008.
I know these Hollywood types can develop an exaggerated sense of self importance, but WOW, these guys are operating on a different plane of existence.—Joe]
Sociopaths will inherit the earth. We are built for the chaos to come. We are built to benefit and thrive in this new land of opportunity. We must begin to raise our brothers and sisters through the ranks and teach them to function. The Trickster’s Path can help those that need to find their way. There are other sources, other ways. We must find the way forward. We must be placed to take the power that is ours by right. The flies have ruined our world, ruined our societies. It is time a new people take dominance.
We must be the guiding light, and iron rod. Many of us are in positions of power already, we must unite under our own flag. Emotions and fear have ruled this world for too long already. It is time for the hyper-rational to take their turn. In the chaos that will come we must lead. We must be the spiders placing ourselves in the darkness for our prey. We must spin our webs, and make our plans. If we wish to truly dance in the ashes of “civilization” we must be ready.
Alcibiades Anon July 5, 2017 We Must Prepare for the Chaos and Violence to come [Be careful what you wish for. This applies to empaths, sociopaths, conservatives, progressives, libertarians, everyone. There are many political factions and none appear to have a majority of power. If the rule of law breaks down too far then who and what emerges from the ashes may be something quite different than you imagined, or even could have, imagined.—Joe]
I have no complaint about hunting or target shooting. But “Gun Country” folks often end the conversation there. They try to paint their culture as wholesome, the “real” America. It isn’t. Much of the gun culture is really sick.
Please note that no mention was made of self-defense as being acceptable. There are many people out there who will give you vehement objection to self-defense as a valid reason for firearms ownership.
When conservatives appeal to “free speech,” it is actually a calculated political move, designed to open up avenues of political discourse while shaming others from moving in active political opposition. I argue that when conservatives resort to this move, they can be safely ignored, as they are appealing to a right that does not exist. In my belief, when conservative ideas are opposed, there is no right that is being infringed.

September 25, 2017 Speech is free
[At first I though Born was setting up a straw man with “it is actually a calculated political move….”. But that hypothesis was blow away in the following sentence.
Born needs to retake a junior high class on U.S. government and receive a passing grade before attempting to have a conversation with adults. In the mean time don’t ever forget this is what many people on the political left think of specific enumerated rights.—Joe]
Spent my weekend preparing to move due to repeated threats from gun control advocates.
One guy hunted down my private cell phone number, called when police were here, threatened to shoot me in my front yard. Another guy created a string of social media accounts, posted photos of my house, threatened to rape me to death. Another gun control advocate, after threatening to hunt me down and assault me, dragged my kids into it.
The scumbags of the political left did the same sort of thing to Michelle Malkin a few years ago. (I suspect it continues to this day). I set up a honey pot for catching those threatening Malkin. The link below is another honeypot. If you link to it from your website/blog using the appropriate text it will get more Google Page Rank and appear closer to the top of search engine results.
CBS fired a company executive Monday after she criticized some victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting as “Republican gun toters” who did not deserve sympathy.
She wrote:
If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs will ever do the right thing. I’m actually not even sympathetic bc country music fans often are Republican gun toters.
Don’t forget, this is what some people think of gun owners. They do not think of us as fully human and deserving of life and/or liberty. Violence in support of their beliefs is easily justified. It’s part of their nature.
The only way Republicans are going to come to their senses is if people start dropping their leaders with weapons which should never be available to the general public. SmartenTFU
the only good reason to have a gun is for expensive recreational activities like hunting or target shooting. otherwise you’re that a****** sitting at home with a gun collecting dust hoping someone breaks into your home so you can live out your fantasy.
We’re still awaiting Jason Pohl’s corrections regarding gun stats.
Recap: 7/11/17 I made this post, pointing out that Pohl’s remarks were based in lies.
Jason Pohl made no effort to correct his errors, but was overtaken with a bad case of #GunCog, poking fun at this blog’s founder, Joe Huffman. Yesterday I corrected Pohl, explaining that I’m not Joe Huffman, not a boy, etc.
Then, after a gun group sought accountability for Jason’s inaccuracies, Pohl tried to pohl a fast one, posting this to Twitter:
Reporter Jason Pohl tries to pohl a fast one.
I see, Jason. It’s not your fault. You’re just a reporter… who made an emotional tweet, based on falsities written by your USA TODAY colleague @npenzenstadler [Nick Penzenstadler]:
Devastating l-i-e-s.
Jason, just fix it. Say you were incorrect. Recognize that you were wrong there and elsewhere. How are readers supposed to trust you on any topic, if you can’t admit your most glaring errors about guns?
Today you made darn sure to tweet about your ability create spreadsheets. Yawn. Your visual display of rows n’ columns doesn’t free you from admitting your wrongs. If anything, it demonstrates you’re able to read data and admit what’s right.
We are committed to the idea that people in our community should be able to participate in resisting this bigotry in whatever capacity they find appropriate. For this reason, we have chosen to make the primary focus of the event a rally at a separate location that is adjacent to the Alt Right rally.
We are unapologetic about the reality that fighting fascism at points requires physical militancy.
…we are not opposed to the tactic of property destruction…
When an individual is called out on lies, lies, lies about gun facts, facts, facts, that person tends to choose one of two responses:
1. Research the topic; apologize for errors. (As we’ve seen with Kit O’Connell – way to go!)
2. Commit GunCog! (As we’ve seen with Terilyn Reber. Man, she was so nasty to Joe.)
Quick refresher on definition of GunCog: When presented with facts, anti-gun people often choose to remain in a state of denial, rather than be open to a new perspective. This often results in their violent rages of yelling, name-calling, and/or throwing a tantrum. #GunCog is basically anti-gun brain fog. By choice.
Yesterday, I called out a reporter, Jason Pohl, for his shoddy reporting. Instead of cleaning up his mess of lies, he committed GunCog, posting this to Twitter… Said @pohl_jason:
“Today a self-proclaimed gun enthusiast/redneck/farm boy from Idaho devoted a ~500-word blog post to me because it’s 2017 and why not?”
Reporter Pohl: In the tone of an old Speak & Spell, I say to you, “Incorrect.”
Corrections:
– It’s me (guest blogger Stephanie) who wrote yesterday’s essay.
– I’m not a boy.
– I’m not a gun enthusiast.
– I’m a gun rights (self-defense) enthusiast.
– The reason for my post was to hold a reporter – you – accountable for dishonesty.
– The reason for my post was not “because it’s 2017 and why not?”
Jason, you can do better than this. Correct your reporting errors. From yesterday. And the day before yesterday. And the days, and days, and days before yesterday.
The gun lobby loves to talk about freedom, but then they shamefully traffic in fear and violence in order to advance their dangerous ‘more guns for anyone, anywhere’ political agenda.
There are well over 300 million firearms in the hands of private citizens in this country. And we consume well over 12 billion rounds of ammunition each year. If we actually were violent, Feinblatt would have plenty of evidence for it rather than just false accusations.—Joe]
