It was almost 13 years ago I said I wanted this:

A friend with a laser engraver made the above samples for me.

In some respects it would be better if the message were engraved on the ogive of the bullet rather than the base. You could then see the message after the bullet is loaded.

Of course the acquaintances of the bullet recipient would be less likely to get the message than if the message were on the base. It all depends on your end goal. Either is possible. And in production the message would be far better centered.

My friend is contemplating engraving messages on bullets as a service. Is there any interest out there?

Because of the number of bullet manufactures, styles, calibers, and weights you would select and purchase your bullets from your usual supplier, then pay for shipping in both directions as well as a fee for engraving.

I”m not sure how they will determine if they are effective in the reversal of the stated policy to ban fracking two months before a Biden/Harris administration takes office. Regardless, I support their sentiment and wish them success.

The shooting comes just two months after a separate incident involving firearms in New York State, which left two people dead and 14 others injured.

The September 19 incident, a mass shooting, took place in the city of Rochester and saw a man and a woman killed in what was described as a “tragedy of epic proportions” by then-acting police chief Mark Simmons.

I find it quite telling they conflate an accidental shooting with a criminal mass shooting.

I’ve deleted this meme. It was overstating things more than what I think is acceptable.

Yes, it is an acknowledged fact that Kamala Harris was dating Willy Brown in 1994 and 1995 and that he gave her political appointments at or about that time. This probably should have been investigated as nepotism.

But the meme strongly implies her selection as a U.S. V.P. candidate was because of her sleeping with “powerfully connected men”. This is a big stretch with the currently available evidence. Where there relationships with other men which also contributed to her success? I’ve not heard of any. And I’m nearly certain there have been a lot of people looking for that sort of dirt and would have reported it if they had found it.

Certainly the case can be made that her appointments 25 years put her on a path to her current position. But the path is far too long to reasonably say the Willy Brown relationship was a dominate factor in her successful traversal of that path.

I sorted the confirmed list by date of birth and selected the oldest people to confirm via the Michigan registration website. Here are my results:

This must stop. The people committing this fraud must be sent to prison and never be allowed to vote again.

Some observations made by Jaime when she called me to discuss:

  • Maybe this is the best possible outcome. It’s so obvious that people are going to insist something be done about it.
  • Trump is not a Republican. A Republican would concede. Trump is a fighter.
  • If the lawsuits can’t be resolved by the time the electoral college votes in December then it goes to the House where a delegation, with each state equally represented, votes on the president. Republicans would have a majority in this scenario.
  • 2020 does not disappoint.

Apparently Doctorow is severely lacking in imagination compared to the average U.S. citizen and/or he is deliberately putting a negative spin on the specific enumerated right to keep and bear arms.

Here are just the first two reasons that came to me when I think about reasons to buy a gun in response to a pandemic:

  1. What about when a significant number of the police are ill or dead from exposure to the plague? Don’t you think it would be nice to be able to defend yourself from the violent criminals?
  2. What about when you need to go hunting to put food on the table because you have been out of work for months or the food supply chain is mostly broken?

The most generous conclusion which I can come up as to the justification for Doctorow’s claim is that he has crap for brains.—Joe]

Spider webs

I was visiting my property in Idaho last weekend and saw something that brought back memories. If you look closely enough at the pictures below you will see spider webs between the straw:

Those weren’t specially chosen views to see the webs. The entire field, as far as you could see was covered with similar webs, not just between the straw bu, between every clod that stuck up more than a few inches. This is a 160 acre field.

It brought back memories of when I was probably 12 to 14 years old and working on the fall plowing. One evening I was driving the Caterpillar D4 with a John Deer five-bottom moldboard plow. The sun was just right to highlight the millions of tiny creatures taking advantage of a gentle breeze..As far as you could see the air was filled with spiders “paragliding” across the field.

Wisconsin voters exceeded registered voters—FALSE

I’ve seen this a couple different places now:

According to Wisconsin Elections Commission:

The State of Wisconsin had 3,684,726 active registered voters on November 1, 2020.

I even used the Way Back Machine for the WI web page and found it had identical numbers of November 1, 2020.

There may be good reasons to suspect fraud but this isn’t one of them for Wisconsin.
