The problem is that the people having trouble understanding it do not do a first think, let alone a rethink.
The optimistic assumption is that gun banners don’t know this stuff, or haven’t thought about it enough. The pessimistic assumption is that they know perfectly well and either don’t care, or tha they like it.
At some point you have to stop thinking “why don’t they understand” and instead “what is it they intend to do to us that requires disarming us first?” And then remember that this is why they have been doing this for over 150 years.
There are two other factors to consider:
The first is that for a while now we’ve been locking up violent criminals and not letting them out as soon.
The second is Trump’s deportation waves.
