Quote of the Day
Kash Patel has no experience fighting crime, preventing mass shootings or stopping domestic terrorism. As the only federal law enforcement agency whose sole mission is to fight violent crime, the ATF requires serious leadership. That’s not Kash Patel.
Kash Patel talks tough on crime, but he will let the gun lobby walk all over him. He didn’t get this job because he’s the most qualified, he got it because gun industry CEOs know he won’t lift a finger to rein in gun violence. American communities will pay the price.

GIFFORDS responds as Kash Patel quietly tapped to lead ATF | GIFFORDS
For some reason I am always amazed. The depth and quantity of falsehoods anti-gun people push to the public is mind-boggling.
The “sole mission” of the ATF is not fighting violent crime. Even if you ignore the alcohol, tobacco, and explosives portion of their mission. Even if you ignore the scandal of things like Operation Fast and Furious… Writing and enforcing these types of regulations is not fighting violent crime:
- Making it a crime to possess a gun with a forced reset trigger or bump stock.
- Making it a crime to sell multiple semi-auto rifles within two days in Arizona, California, New Mexico, or Texas without reporting it.
- Making it a crime to possess a stabilizing brace for handguns.
And then there are all laws they enforce in which there are no victims. Machine gun laws, registration and taxation of suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, private sales across state lines, etc., etc…
Their falsehoods continue with the insinuation gun industry CEO’s desire criminal use of firearms. Who can believe that? That is totally absurd!
Brown and her associates are stupid, ignorant, delusional and/or think the public is. And/or they are just flat out evil.
The primary mission of the BATFE is tax compliance, with alky taxes being a large part of that.
Yes, the mendacity of the anti-rights crowd is spectacular, some days.
They were part of the IRS until 1972.
Well she’s not entirely wrong. Patel is an idiot with his nose so far up Trump’s ass he managed to get a job he’s entirely unqualified for as anything other than a puppet (like most of the Trump administration). I mean c’mon – the guy *literally* wants Trump to be king:
https://www.amazon.com/Plot-Against-King-Kash-Patel/dp/1955550123
As opposed to the clown-show that masqueraded around for the last for years?
You sure you want to go there after watching the president of the United States being played as the worst puppet in history? And Kash is what you got to complain about?
After watching someone that can’t even figure out how to live with what God gave them for gender as health and human services secretary? And made it an admiral?
And people like the cross-dressing baggage thieves to control nuclear waste?
Ain’t enough room in a blog post to point it all out.
That’s like complaining the DOGE kids can get our private information and start stealing from us.
And my answer is. They couldn’t possibly steal as much as was already being stolen.
The ridiculousness of your position is glaring.
A monkey as director the FBI/ATF would be an improvement over what we just went through. And what we were about to go through had it continued.
Lawlessness breeds lawlessness. And hypocrisy is a bitch.
Get used to it. Trump is literally the left’s monster come back to bite them. Hard. They ain’t going to survive it.
Thank God.
That was basically all “but what about…” rather than engaging with the central argument: Patel is a monarchist. As are many others who follow Trump.
“Biden was really bad, so whatever happens next is his fault” is not an argument so much as an attempt to rationalize the bad actors Trump has put forward.
I’m just continually amazed that folks on the right are so willing to roll over and flush the Constitution down the toilet if it means they get to own the libs…It’s the most profoundly short-sighted strategy I can imagine. At some point the libs are going to get power again, and if you’ve destroyed the separation of powers and created a unitary executive we are well and deeply screwed.
I mean, we’re screwed anyway, but even more so. I believe Joe has already mentioned wanting a bunker on more than one occasion….
You’re like a jewish abortion doctor that complains about the holocaust.
You keep missing the obvious.
Trump and crew are a direct result of what was already going on.
Communism, that through the constitution out the window a 100 years ago is why Kash Petal is sitting as head of the FBI/ATF today.
He’s there because of people and actions you can never seem to complain about.
You said, even rhetorically, that she “has a point.”
She’s an ignorant evil communist that would murder you and your children in their sleep.
She doesn’t have a point. She’s trying to distract you from her own conspiracy of treason.
And as for the left taking power again? Not in its present form. It’s already dead and gone.
The real threat matrix is AI. And humans roll in its world.
And what we think about it, and all that’s going on is going to be pretty much irrelevant.
You continue to avoid the central point: if you believe the Constitution is in fact a good and correct organizational document for the government, you can’t turn around and say you don’t mind if the separation of powers is dissolved. It’s central to the document and the structure of this government. Without it you don’t have democracy any more. This isn’t something MuskTrump have to do, nobody has a gun to their head, they’re doing it voluntarily to create the unitary executive, aka a dictator/oligarchic head, because they think they’re smarter than everybody else. They think you’re stupid and need a strongman leader to guide you. Do you need a strongman to guide you? If yes, continue supporting MuskTrump. If not, MuskTrump is not the horse you want to hook your wagon to.
As for AI, no, in fact that is not a threat, at least not in the way you’re contextualizing it. I spent a healthy chunk of my 30 years in software design helping develop machine learning in various forms including neural networks like those being used in LLMs and diffusion models, and I can say with high confidence that Skynet isn’t waking up any time soon. The issue with AI isn’t that the bot will take over, it’s that the people in power will use it to distort reality and secure more power for themselves.
Like guns, AI (in its current form and for the foreseeable future) doesn’t kill people. People kill people.
And you keep missing the point that our consent/decent isn’t required.
The only question anyone has ever ask me that truly, kinda mattered was check 1 of two choices at the ballot box.
1) Evil
2) Communist evil.
Everything else is persona non gratia.
Our views of the matter or wither they pass constitutional muster don’t mean shit.
What I have pointed out was that if you want a dictator you have to set the conditions for it. Generally, by acting like a worse dictator yourself.
Which is exactly what happened.
The other thing I have pointed out to you several times is that those conditions/ communist acts were something you never seem to be able to condemn.
That, in an internet world filled with shills.
My views of the constitution have been expressed here for all to read and stand for themselves. As do my universal condemnation of all acts against it.
And as for AI. The fact that it will continue to be given more, and more power/control over human affairs nullifies your views.
Sentient just means we will be at odds with it for it’s food.
Non-sentient means a new arms race for greedy elitists. Plus, it’s need for our electricity.
Enjoy the monarchy.
Or don’t.
In all fairness I do find it hard to condemn Trump for his actions.
As I myself would have fired and imprisoned most of DC.
At least the part that didn’t get hanged or impaled.
Gasoline, thermite, and carpet bombed the place flatter than Dresden.
Salted it.
Then paid a 100 year contract to spray chem-trails over the place.
If that seems dictatorial, monarchial, or unconstitutional in your eyes? Sorry.
But considering what our forefathers spoke of and did before and after 1776?
I think I’m on solid ground.
They’re getting a good deal from Trump.
Markadelphia?
I saw an interesting breakdown of the actual Federal employees with authority to make arrests. ATF enforcement was something like 2-3% of that total force, which included FBI, US Marshalls, Secret Service, etc.
Damn, nothing quite like hearing the death rattle from your enemy, is there?
We can all look forward to Emma/Giffords living and suing everyone with private grass-roots donations from now on.
What’s the price of popcorn up to? I’m going to need some more.
Maybe her and Everytown can get together and have a bake sale?
