This Will Be Interesting

Carville makes a very bold claim:

Speaking with Mediatite’s Dan Abrams, Mr Carville said: “I believe that this administration, in less than 30 days is in the midst of a massive collapse and particularly a collapse in public opinion.” When asked to clarify what he meant by this, Mr Carville said he believed the administration was already crumbling about one month into the job.

“It’s collapsing right now,” he said. “We’re in the midst of a collapse. This is the lowest approval, not even close, that any president has ever had at a comparable time.”

My sample may be biased, but I don’t think he has a very good record of political predictions.

I’m going to schedule a post for next month to remind us to revisit this topic.

  1. He’s lying. Trumps approval is high. DOGEs approval is through the roof.

Google the Sarah Hoyt post “Don’t Fall for It”

    The Left lies. Always.

  2. The mobs protesting DOGE in Red areas are small and astroturfed. No money to rent larger mobs, so the mobs consist only of self-funded true believers.

  3. In the words of Wikipedia, “[citation needed]”.

Mr. Carville can say whatever he wants, but if he can’t point to an objective source and say, “This is where I got my information,” it’s all B.S.

Anecdotally speaking, from what I’ve seen even Trump’s enemies have some small glimmer of respect for him following through on his promise to cut federal government waste, fraud, and abuse. They disagree with his tactics, of course, but they don’t disagree it needs to be done. As “Anon” points out above, Trump’s approval rating is higher now than Biden’s was at any point in his Presidency — including 30 days in — and DOGE is doing even better.

I suspect Mr. Carville, instead of finding a poll with a broad statistically-valid sample size, asked three of his Trump-hating friends and assumes the four of them together represent the country. Kind of like how Pauline Kael in 1972 reportedly couldn’t figure out how Richard Nixon got elected since almost nobody she knew voted for him (IIRC, Nixon carried 49 states, by any definition an electoral landslide).

Maybe Mr. Carville should step out of his bubble and see what actual Americans think before making unverified claims like this.

    • No, No, No. Carville and the whole communist clown crew need to just keep prattling on. Let them die in their bubble world filled with hopium.
As for everyone else, once you start seeing it. You can’t un-see it. You start seeing more. And there is still some normies out there that need to see the contrast.

  4. Carville is just another has been desperately seeking relevance. We suffer no shortage of those.
