Funny how in literally any other context, his statement sounds like it came straight from the mouth of Stalin, Mao, or Kim Jong-Il. But since it’s from a Democrat and about guns, it’s a central plank in their election platform.
Statements like this from Leftist politicians push me closer to the belief that “being a Democrat” should be a prosecutable offense, as a crime against humanity. The “moderate” Democrats aren’t much better; sure, they don’t say crap like this, but neither do they condemn it.

You can’t go wrong with Kevin D. Williamson.
I appreciate how he points out that it’s not just the Republican party the Democrats would eliminate, because the electorate would still disagree with the Leftist agenda under another name. It’s Republicans they don’t like and would eliminate, whether by jailing them for their opposing views or by eliminating their political representation and writing them out of the electoral process.
And that it’s happening right now (even back in 2019), and not some imaginary dystopian future.
Have the J6 protesters gotten a fair trial yet? (It drives me nuts that many so-called “conservative” publications still refer to J6 as a “riot”, “insurrection”, or “attempted coup” — especially if they include “armed”; it was none of those things.) Or are they still being held without bail, without representation, and in many cases incommunicado?
That’s what Democrats would do to all of us if they could. And the longer they’re in power, the more likely they’ll be able to lay the foundation to make it happen. All it takes is to pack the judiciary with big-government Leftists who will decide that “rights” are fungible and vary based on ideology; we’ve already seen opinions from judges who quite clearly believe that.
