Quote of the Day
As vice president, a senator and California’s attorney general, Harris backed policies that imposed restrictions on speech, including by defending a law eventually struck down by the Supreme Court, which forced pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise abortions. On the campaign trail, Harris has indicated support for holding social media platforms “accountable” for “hate speech” and misinformation online.
New Civil Liberties Alliance litigation counsel Jenin Younes told the DCNF she is “extremely concerned about both Harris and Walz’s records on free speech.”
“Both have evinced either a disregard for or misunderstanding of the First Amendment, which protects ‘misinformation’ and ‘hate speech’— contrary to various statements the two have made,” Younes said. “The First Amendment recognizes that the government does not have a monopoly on the truth, as it has demonstrated throughout the COVID era during which it was one of the worst purveyors of misinformation in the country.”
During a 2019 campaign speech before the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Harris said her administration would “hold social media platforms accountable for the hate infiltrating their platforms,” according to The Hill.

Free Speech May Be In The Crosshairs Under A Harris-Walz Administration
Also, of interest is: Harris to unveil economic agenda that would crack down on ‘price gouging’ on food, groceries – ABC News. And it is not just food she wants the government to meddle with:
Among the economic policies Harris is set to announce is a plan to provide up to $25,000 in down-payment support for first-time homeowners, according to a campaign official.
The campaign is vowing that during her first term, the Harris-Walz administration would provide working families who have paid their rent on time for two years and are buying their first home up to $25,000 in down-payment assistance, with more generous support for first-generation homeowners.
She will also call for the construction of 3 million new housing units to end the housing supply shortage, her campaign said.

This is total disregard for specific enumerated rights and powers. The constitution? We don’t need any stinking constitution!
Well, if you start price controls, you’re going to have to confiscate guns.
Cause this ain’t Zimbabwe yet. (Although she agrees wholeheartedly with what went on there. And is going on in So. Africa.)
I’m thinking America=Rhodesia 2.0 might not go the way clown world would like it too.
No matter, the Whorris/Awalz administration will be worse commie meat puppets than pants-full Joe’s is.
It’s already no holds barred for the communists. But after they steal this election?
Better not only have your bunker built, but fully stocked as well.
Communism is a crime against humanity.
My money on Harris is out to teach us that the hard way.
Like having a Bitchy Hyena for president.
Remember, fully stocked is hoarding. It was under the Soviets, it will be under Whoris/Awalz.
She’s a totalitarian, just like all the “leadership” of the Left.
They have a God complex, and know better than you.
Free speech is a doorway to them passing their own blasphemy laws, either secular “hate speech” laws that function similarly, or literal blasphemy laws for someone else’s less tolerant religion https://www.jihadwatch.org/2024/08/uk-set-to-adopt-blasphemy-law-to-protect-muslims
Same for every other claimed harm; it’s a doorway to give them more power to “protect you.” Cause a problem (say a housing shortage by letting in millions of unvetted illegals) in order to demand a housing program so they can control where everyone lives.
Wash, rinse, repeat. They are evil.
They have a God complex, and know better than you.
For a response, I will quote C.S. Lewis: “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
Cause a problem (say a housing shortage by letting in millions of unvetted illegals) in order to demand a housing program so they can control where everyone lives.
Not only where everyone lives, but how much they pay to live there. Suppose you’re a land developer and you built a 200-unit apartment complex (with a pool and playground for the kids, maintained by rent and/or COA dues). You did your due diligence, so you know how much you can charge for each unit based on the local market, and you know how much you must charge to keep the mortgage and taxes and maintenance on the complex paid and make a reasonable (not excessive) profit — and ideally the former is some percentage (say, 15%) more than the latter, or you probably wouldn’t have built to begin with!
Now suppose a government busybody comes along and says, no, you can’t charge that much because it’s discriminatory (and to hell with the local market value). You must cut your rents by 20% to make it “more fair” and bring it in compliance with a new Harris/Walz “fair housing” program. If you refuse then the government will seize the property and turn it to Section 8 low-income housing. The fact that at 80% of your due-diligence-derived projected income you can’t make your mortgage and tax payments — let alone a profit to make it worth your while — is not important. (And what happens if you don’t make your tax payments? That’s right, the government seizes your property!)
Want to know the best way to gut an affordable housing market? Disincentivize private developers from building new housing.
Want to know the best way to make whole tracts of cities into government-run slums? Force private developers out of the market and let government-contracted developers take over.
But it’s okay, because it’s “fair”. Equal misery for everyone!
As the sister of the Tom Hank’s character said in “Every Time We Say Goodbye” after he said that his father, the Protestant Minister was a Socialist.
She asked, “So, we can all be poor together?’
Those housing policies sound like exactly the ones that caused the 2008 crash.
If you give them the benefit of doubt, they just didn’t learn from the 2008 housing crash.
But giving them the benefit of doubt is ludicrous to the point of insanity. They learned it, they know what happened, and they mean to do it again, only HARDER! “Bidenflation” — and the attendant recession — is still going on, and they’ll re-create a housing crash on top of it.
Hmmmmm… I wonder what the best way to short the housing market is at this time?
If she talks about this much over the next few months, that should put HUGE downward pressure on the markets as big players try to unload the downside risk for real estate to a Heels-up Harris administration.
I’ve got the notion that if Harris loses because she is the designated loser and scapegoat to protect the rest of the D party, they’re really hoping the first thing that happens in a Trump 47 term is a real estate crash and a bunch of bankruptcies and maybe some bank failures so they can push for some bailouts with money we don’t have so that’s “Trump’s fault”.
“First-generation homeowners” is a thinly-veiled euphemism for “immigrants”, and I for one am very interested to see what their definition is.
Such as, if you have never owned a home, and your parents never owned their home(s), but your grandparents did, do you still qualify as “first-generation homeowner”? Or are you disqualified because of your grandparents? What’s the minimum required generational separation, if any? Finally, if you previously owned a home, but haven’t owned for a while — say, 10 or 20 years — can you still qualify as “first-time” OR “first-generation”?
At some extreme definition, the only people who qualify are first-generation immigrants (i.e. people who moved here), or their descendants if the first-generation didn’t purchase a home; pretty much any “natural born” American has at least one ancestor who owned a home. With a slightly less-extreme definition, American-born inner-city urbanites who have rented their whole lives (read: racial minorities dramatically over-represented) may qualify, too. But most people from the suburbs and rural communities are out.
Someone could pretty easily make a case that a program with such definitions — as applied, if not prima facie — violates racial discrimination statutes. But how long before such challenges make their way through the courts?
How would they even verify a claim of first-generation home owner no matter how they defined it?
Democrat registration
Harris and Walz are communists. And they don’t even try to hide that fact.
Anyone believing otherwise. is an abject moron. And sadly there are tens of millions of such morons in America who will support these two wastes of skin.

But, but…their policies sound so good. And fair.
And, since the union-run Education Industrial Complex appears to have been banned from teaching real world economics and the MSM are “Commie Apprentices,” the Dem fantasies will get widespread acceptance, especially among those incapable of understanding that, not just once enacted but also merely well-anticipated, the $25K rise in housing prices everywhere will be automatic and instantaneous, as will the increase in materials cost for those houses yet unbuilt and every associated ancillary expense such as land, labor, energy, etc.
I’m torn between trying to work for Trump to head all this @%&$ off at the pass and just buying more ammo and freeze dried food (and, maybe even a “Joe Bunker”) so I can not just survive the coming apocalypse but profit from it as well. Electing Trump, or a Trump-like savior, will be, I fear, just a temporary respite in the steepening decline; until the enemy is eliminated – totally and without favor – any accomplishments in the other direction will turn out to be fleeting. Maybe civilizations are supposed to crash and burn periodically as an Ultimate Educational Experience. Sudden catastrophic societal death might be better for the survivors, and the future recovery and development one hopes they might create, than just being doomed to bumble along on the edge of the precipice forever.
You can never eliminate the enemy. Communism gets reinvented every generation or two and has since at least 1789. For all you Pinochet and Franco fans, consider that both Chile and Spain are ruled by socialists today. And they aren’t the only enemy. Even pagans are having a comeback. We do have an opportunity with the Communists though since they like to segregate themselves in cities. Do the National Divorce and leave the big cities in another country.
If they can gerrymander House of Representative State Senate or State Assembly districts, certainly we ought to be able to draw districts with just Communists. And the Liberals can go with them! They’ve been voting for them for decades.
