Quote of the day—Ned Lamont

I think those assault-style weapons that are grandfathered should not be grandfathered. They should not be allowed in the state of Connecticut. I think they’re killers.

Ned Lamont
Governor of Connecticut
Lamont suggests making over ‘grandfathered’ assault weapons illegal. Over 80,000 exist in CT
[From the same article:

… weapons that were legally kept in Connecticut between 1994 and 2013 — when the ban was expanded to include at least 100 additional models — and allowed owners to register those guns with the state, but not to sell or transfer them to anyone except for a licensed gun dealer or family member.

Registration is only good for one thing and that is confiscation.

I hope he enjoys his trial.—Joe]

  1. I wonder what the registration rate was for the previously unregistered modern sporting rifles?

Speculatively, I’ve heard the registration rates are in the single digits, which is not surprising. Knowing that registration is a first step to confiscation, why would you register?

    • IIRC, in all the states that had any sort of sales data on the subject, none of them exceeded an estimated 10% registration. I suspect that this may make some of the politicians a bit nervous. They will be scrambling for other methods to accomplish it.

I’ve also heard that the turned-in-for-destruction numbers in Australia never came close to what they expected to get. I find it interesting how different places around the world reacted to turn-in/confiscation demands. Asian areas got instant compliance, others not so much. A quick look at history shows that compliance eventually, and always, ends badly for the people.

  2. Yes Ned, they are killers. Thats why we own them. The same reason the government owns them.
The thing to remember is this, Ned. Wither there are AR15’s around or not.
Your a whiny bitch, looking for something to be a whiny little bitch over. And that’s all you will ever be. Anywhere you ever find yourself.
(Poor Ned, can’t seem to grasp the logic that if 80,000 AR’s ever truly became a problem? He would be to scared to say what he does about them.) Because…. Bitches.
