Quote of the day—Michael Beschloss

A historian 50 years from now, if historians are allowed to write in this country and if there are still free publishing houses and a free press, which I’m not certain of. But if that is true, a historian will say, what was at stake tonight and this week was the fact whether we will be a democracy in the future, whether our children will be arrested and conceivably killed. We’re on the edge of a brutal authoritarian system, and it could be a week away.

Michael Beschloss
Presidential historian

NBC historian warns of a future where ‘our children will be arrested and conceivably killed’ if GOP wins
[Interesting…

Is this the same GOP which (sometimes) wants to:

  • Reduce government power
  • Require presidents to get approval of congress to change the law
  • Enable ordinary people to own and purchase weapons to protect themselves from individual criminals as well as criminal governments
  • Enable free speech on social media

It would appear one or more of the following is true about Mr. Beschloss:

  1. He is living in an alternate reality and only makes guest appearances here
  2. He is using some military grade mind altering drugs
  3. He is deliberately engaged in a “The Big Lie” propaganda effort
  4. Hi is engaged in the projection of his and his fellow political travelers intentions toward the GOP.

I considered adding “extreme hyperbola” to make a point, but multiplying realty by 10, 100, or 1,000 times only results in a larger vector pointing in the wrong direction from what he claims.

This is the kind of rhetoric used to justify mass killings and even genocide.

The election is only four days away. Prepare and respond appropriately.—Joe]

  1. They are professional gas lighters. It is what they do. Literally anything they accuse others of is what they are doing or will do.

  2. The guy is definitely warped. It has become glaringly obvious to anyone who isn’t glued to CNN, that the FBI colluded with Biden to lean on social media and mass media to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story, just a couple weeks before the election. It’s also obvious that it isn’t the GOP that’s working to suppress free speech. Elon is sure drawing a lot of flak for returning “hate” (read: anything that the Democrats disagree with) speech to Twitter.

  3. Define “irony”.

…whether our children will be arrested and conceivably killed.

As opposed to … what? Being crushed and cut up while still in the womb?

If they are born alive, being indoctrinated into the authoritarian Left’s death cult, and arrested if they speak out against it?

How are those fundamentally different from what he’s baselessly accusing the Right of?

Lies and psychological projection are all they have.

  4. Good comments all!
He has the ability to breath and blink his eyes. So we know he knows it’s all lies. Evil- explains it quite nicely.
But he has a point.( As Phelps already mentioned), If his children are anything like him and his friends. They are in danger of being arrested in the future. One cannot say and do such outrageously criminal acts to 100 million armed citizens without the danger of it.
The armed white males of this country are the biggest threat to them. And they know it.
Communists know what a minority they are. And at this point their almost all mouth and gut-wind. Civil-hot? They would be gone in a week. Without electricity and tires, one wouldn’t even know they existed.
Mr. Beschloss is just telling us his worst fears because they truly are afraid. And THEIR democracy, (the one where your vote doesn’t count, only theirs), truly is in danger. As Archer said, projection.
Communist fear is sweet as honey. Enjoy neighbors!

  5. He’s being hyperbolic, yes, but he’s not entirely out of his mind. For example, Catholic Integralism:

    https://open.substack.com/pub/persuasion1/p/what-is-integralism?r=3y0bt&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email

This writer is more balanced, and even serves up an indictment of liberal policies lately and their tendency towards the abuse of government power:

“As we resist integralism, political liberals should ask themselves some hard questions. Have we truly respected cultural pluralism, or have we been willing to use coercive power to bring about the cultural change we support? Have we used the judicial system to bypass the slower task of democratic persuasion? Have we allowed federalism and localism to serve as sites for the expression of different conceptions of morality and the good, or have we nationalized issues that did not require a unitary and binding national response? Have we inadvertently undermined the credibility of a liberal public square that makes room for conflicting conceptions of the individual and common good?

Political liberals face a strategic choice. Either we can approach cultural conflict as our adversaries do—as a fight to the finish without the possibility of honorable compromise—or we can work to de-escalate the conflict without abandoning our principles. This means refraining from using government to promote our views unless there is a clear legal or constitutional justification for doing so. The fact that a specific belief is moral does not justify using public institutions to promulgate and enforce it.”

    • Do you ever read that which you write?
“Political liberals face a strategic choice. Either we can approach cultural conflict as our adversaries do—as a fight to the finish without the possibility of honorable compromise.”
If that were true of the right, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. As the communist putsch we are experiencing today would have been properly throttled in it crib!
No, the cowardly right has offered compromise at every step of the way. Thats why the ignorant are running this country today
“The fact that a specific belief is moral does not justify using public institutions to promulgate and enforce it.”
HAHAHAHAHA! You’ve got to be f–k’in kidding me?
So, child sex abuse is a moral issue. (If it wasn’t they wouldn’t be trying to change the culture and laws wrote behind it.)
Just what part of my moral believe should I give up on about children being harmed?
Maybe we should reconsider child labor laws while we’re at it?
That way after some elitist slaver gets done working a child for 12 hours he can feel good about raping them too?
And having witnessed the damage to the person and society that child sex abuse does. Why would anyone NOT want the government to enforce laws against it????
Morality is the ONLY reason for laws and government in the first place.
      Unless your a communist.
Dude, you need to lay off the edibles. They’re screwing up your logic.

  6. Pretty much everything he says is valuless save for identifying his political and social position, but “…. whether we will be a democracy in the future….” instantly drops whatever credibility he might have had to zero.

It seems the Left knows only one word – “democracy” – when describing political structure and they are very highly enamored of it.

“Democracy” is one form of it, certainly, but in reference to the United States of America, it is wrong. The U.S. is a Constitutionally-based, democratically elected representative republic and was quite deliberately stuctured so. At the risk of being completely wrong, I assume the Left embraces the word “democracy” not out of abject ignorance but because they do know that “democracy” means the proverbial “two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for dinner,” and they envision themselves as always being the wolves. And, since the American Education Industrial Complex has succeeded in indoctrinating people to believe the U.S. is a “democracy” it sells well.

  7. Well, he is not mistaken, however, he IS making a prediction based on whether or not his masters get the election results they want. In 1974 I was told by some wild-eyed college student leftist (but I repeat myself) that I shouldn’t be surprised by various banana republic events in America which included currency issued in different colors from the green used at the time. If we vote for the people Michael Beschloss supports and advocates, I think that is entirely possible. Several South American countries have done that very thing, knocking a few zeros off the new money, and a London Hedge Fund has published a newsletter warning of the likelihood of hyperinflation, which is a buyer’s market in currency with panic sellers.

  8. One of the MANY things you can always count on from the left is their consistent
use of the psychological tool “projection”. Where they accuse anyone opposing them of the crimes THEY are guilty of.

  9. It’s been over 100 years since a Republican sweep in an election meant a significant dismantling of Democratic Party, Marxist/fascist/Romish shenanigans. They’ve had ample chances in the last 40 years, and haven’t come through. Therefore, if they were going to dismantle the police/redistribution/general coercion/Gaia-worshiping state THIS time, there is precisely zero evidence for it. I’ve heard practically all the same political rhetoric that you’re heard over the last 30 years, and I cannot cite any such evidence. Far from it; I’ve learned a few things about the parties collaborating behind our backs, and about them serving other masters besides the voters.

Nope; they’re far, far too deep into their servitude of evil forces. That CANNT change things any longer.
