Quote of day—Lauren Boebert @laurenboebert

What is truly telling is that the government is no longer afraid to admit they’re blatantly censoring our 1A rights.

Before, they tried to hide it. Now they brag. They feel like they can do anything now.

This is how tyranny starts.

  1. Has anyone noticed that they are saying “misinformation” rather than “COVID misinformation”?
Covid is just the excuse. But it seems the goal is to censor anything the government doesn’t like.

  2. It doesn’t need to be Covid misinformation. That the nation could be shut down for an “emergency” like the Covid Pandemic (Panic over an Epidemic) it can be shut down over an “emergency” like Global Warming/ Global Cooling/ Climate Change. And once Covid misinformation (disputed opinions) is banned speech, can Climate Denial be far behind?

  3. “This is how tyranny starts”

    Starts?

I think we passed the start line a while ago.

    • Were conservatives. So were always playing catch-up.
It seems our problem is that we refuse to think in terms of evil?
And the competition thinks in no other terms but evil.
Your right though. It started a long time ago. Didn’t our forefathers have to fight to get the Bill of Rights in the constitution?

      • Yes, they did.
There’s a great book you can read, “Ratification” by Pauline Maier. It discusses the Constitution and especially the various shenanigans involved in getting it ratified.

When the BoR was proposed, a fair number of people called it unnecessary or redundant. And technically speaking they were right. For example, the Feds have no Constitutional authority to limit speech, establish a church, or do anything to our guns. This is for the simple reason that the enumerated powers in Article 1 Section 8 list none of these things. Still, the BoR was proposed to make doubly sure. Unfortunately we found out soon after (by 1803 for sure) that it still wasn’t nearly good enough, and the Feds have been further chopping away at our rights ever since.

        • The BoR and its path to ratification reminded me of Karl Hess, Barry Goldwater’s speechwriter for his Presidential Campaign in 1964, who said that the Anti-Federalists in 1787 argued against the ratification of the Constitution as we did not fight to become independent of the British to become Rich, we fought for independence to be FREE.
And as pkoning says, the more powerful government the Constitution was devised to keep in check began to slip its collar distressingly early in the Constitution’s history. We ignore the creativity of lawyers at the peril of our liberty at the very least.

  4. The left successfully committed The Crime Of The Century last fall and GOT AWAY WITH IT. They control EVERY major component of government plus they own the Media, Academia, Big Tech and the VAST majority of judges in America. There is now NO LEGAL MEANS AVAILABLE for ‘we the people’ to resort to in the effort to bring them to justice. They have been violating our rights for DECADES….ALL of them. And NOTHING has ever happened to any of the people responsible for that decades long assault on freedom. Why WOULDN’T they come out of the shadows and OPENLY violate our rights. Nothing has ever happened to them in the past for doing so and there is no reason to believe that anything will be done to them in the future for their ongoing criminality.
