A federal appeals court threw out on Friday a lawsuit by California and the Giffords gun control advocacy group claiming that a Biden administration-era rule to curtail the production of illegal, largely untraceable “ghost guns” was not strict enough.

Reversing a lower court ruling, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco voted 3-0 that California and Giffords did not show the rule’s treatment of partially completed receivers, or frames, for AR-15 type semi-automatic rifles caused them harm.

Interestingly, the decision was 3-0. Two of those judges were Biden appointees.

    Just as did not occur in Florida 35 years ago, Florida did not become the “Gunshine” State, nor has all the states becoming Shall Issue states in the intervening decades cause the violence in those states to skyrocket, or to follow any other Metaphor for a lesser increase. Traffic disputes have not turned into the Gunfight at the OK Corral, and what was the astonishing news recently? That the violent crime rate has gone down by a greater percentage than ever before?
    Again and again, it is demonstrated that once the law abiding citizenry can apply for a concealed carry permit, they reveal themselves to be responsible handling devices that can produce violence (just as they demonstrate with cars, gasoline, matches, and knives).

    I am not tired of winning, particularly when I am in favor of liberty for responsible people, which the data from recent years shows the vast majority of people are, and I can see that liberty itself is winning,

  3. Except it’s not winning when it comes via force of law. Currently, yes, a bunch of legal decisions are being handed down that will change the rules, just as prior legal decisions were handed down in the past that changed the rules the other way. We’re not winning, we’re just riding the swing.

    Real winning is when you actually change the culture to understand and value personal freedom, to the point where people aren’t interested in reversing the laws and decisions from the prior administration the second they get into office.

    But they will get into office, the rampant corruption of this administration has made sure of that. The Trump administration has simply used raw power to get what it wants, which means the second the pendulum swings and they lose power, those decisions will get rolled back. It might take decades to pack the court in the opposite direction, but that’s what will happen, because “might makes right” isn’t a long term strategy, it’s just temporary catharsis.
