Quote of the Day
When Jon Richelieu-Booth boarded a plane home to England after a Florida vacation, he had no reason to believe a simple photo — a harmless picture of himself shooting a legally rented shotgun at a gun range — would soon turn his life upside down.
…
The message is always the same: give up a little freedom now…we promise it’s for your own good. Richelieu-Booth’s arrest shows exactly where that road leads.
The truth is simple: freedom dies gradually… until it dies suddenly. That’s why the fight for the Second Amendment isn’t just about guns. It’s about the entire structure of American liberty. It’s about ensuring that no government — federal, state, local, or foreign — can do to an American what British authorities did to that IT consultant.
Our rights are exceptional. They are fragile. And they survive only when the people refuse to surrender them.
If we want our children and grandchildren to inherit a free nation — a nation where a photo of a gun is just a photo — then we must fight harder than ever to protect the liberties that make America the last stronghold of individual freedom. Because what happened in England must never become normal here.

What the Arrest of a British Tourist Tells Us About American Civil Rights – Shooting News Weekly
As I have said before, we should be imposing sanctions on countries which infringe up the right of their citizens to keep and bear arms. And double down if they also have a poor record on the right to free speech. This is just a single data point. There are many examples in numerous countries we once considered free.
No doubt the UK is treating the photo like child pornography. Even if it’s legal where it occurred, photos of the banned behavior constitute a separate crime. I can’t however, find any fact check evidence that such a ban exists in the UK for firearm photos. (Evidence is plentiful for the illegality of child porn photos).
What a slippery slope …
What if there is a photo of me speaking and it is asserted that I was mis-gendering someone. If I visit my folks in California, will that photo land me in jail tomorrow? Next week?
I don’t want anyone to go to jail for a photo of what was legal at the time and place it was taken, but I have no wish to legalize photos of child porn regardless of it’s legality in marginal countries (like Russia). So apparently I’m in favor of some tyranny but not other tyranny.
You’re going to have a hard time doubling down: Free speech isn’t a thing in the U.S. any more.

Did you think it was just “them damn feriners”? They’re going domestic as well, starting with their political enemies:

https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/leak-fbi-list-of-extremists-is-coming
They’re doing everything possible to tear up the first amendment.
Yaaa, your at least 40 years behind buddy.
Remember covid? And everyone that got rolled up and banned for even talking about alternatives? While rioters burned down cities?
Remember the stolen election of 2020? And how that got shot down, banned, and people arrested?
Trump is just the same war by other means. The war on 1A is nothing new.
Walter Cronkite was a bought and paid for government stooge.
Unfortunately, banning hate speech hasn’t earned a SCOTUS rebuke, and paves the way for other kinds of speech to be censored.
Some in my old professional circle cheered when hate speech prohibitions were upheld. Now with Trump, they’re seeing their opposition use the precedent they set against their speech.
Same thing will happen when the next D POTUS uses the powers that Trump has taken. Expect to see SCOTUS rulings vacated by executive order…
Back around the turn of the century, the daughter of one of my good friends brought several of her college classmates to visit over the Christmas holiday break.
One was from Merry Olde England, so I brought out a No 4 Mk 2 Enfield I had at the time so he could run a magazine of .303 through a rifle his nation had once issued.
I don’t remember whether pictures were taken, but I didn’t hear of any negative effects.
My, how the one of the mightiest empires on earth has fallen.
That’s totally funny if you have that sort of humor.
These are the same people saying “we’re going to have to go to war with Russia!!!!”
With what? People that are scared to have a picture of themselves taken with a gun in a country where it’s totally legal?
At the same time muslums can rape anyone they want, “because it’s they’re culture.” Or just a “sexual emergency”. And get paid by the government to do it.
Welcome to the new world order.
Don’t laugh, Klaus Schwab said you will own nothing and be happy. Own your car yet? (And how long will it last once you do.)
Paid your property taxes just before Christmas that you’re going to have to put on the almost maxed out credit card?
We already don’t own anything, barely live in a cubical,
and are probably eating bugs every time you go to the store.
Every time they tell you they are going to do something, they have already done it.
The dystopia we think they’re going to shove down our collective throats?
They already have. It’s here.
Next up in my book, is the financial takedown.
“At the same time muslums (sic) can rape anyone they want, “because it’s they’re (sic) culture.” “
I see an opportunity for one hell of a federal civil rights lawsuit (and/or whatever might pass for that where Great Britain used to be, assuming the UK is sufficiently enlightened to include such things); if “culture” must be respected in the extreme, then “my culture” is just as important as “their culture” – unless direct discrimination against a specific culture is acceptable and approved by the ruling authority, which opens the door to all sorts of counter arguments* – and “my culture” includes possessing and wearing a fully functional sidearm of my choice when I am awake and ambulatory. “My culture” also includes having Projectile Expulsion Machinery of various sizes and operational type freely available and close at hand.
So, yeah, let’s have that discussion about “culture.”
* It should be noted that “counter arguments” may be presented in various forms and venues (as example, we offered a prolonged but rather successsful “counter argument” from 1776 to 1789, interestingly enough, against the same group of people).
ETA: MT, you really need to either get a phone with larger buttons or migrate to a real computing device; we can read it but it degrades the professionalism.
All good, and a solid argument.
Except that your using logic. And the world is now running on a communist brainwashed system.
Like Yuri told us. “I/you can show them the truth, and it won’t matter. They simply cannot process it.”
Logic would tell us that you don’t go bomb and murder people in a given country. Then import millions of those pissed-off people into your own country directly afterward either.
But here we are.
Stolen from Midwest Chick’s place:
“One day I’m going to judge a spelling bee.
I’ll ask one of the kids to spell the word “there.”
When he asks for it in a sentence I’ll say….
“Their car is parked over there and they’re late.”
As VP Vance has stated England is rapidly deteriorating into an enemy muslim country…one with NUCLEAR WEAPONS. That will make them a serious threat to the US.
