Quote of the Day
President Donald J. Trump has instructed his Administration to “protect the Second Amendment rights of all Americans.” Executive Order No. 14,206, Protecting Second Amendment Rights, 90 Fed. Reg. 9503 (Feb. 7, 2025). Attorney General Pamela Bondi has likewise instructed the Department of Justice “to use its full might to protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.” Memo. from the U.S. Att’y Gen., Second Amendment Enforcement Task Force (Apr. 8, 2025).
This case poses important questions about the scope of the Second Amendment’s protections. The United States has strong interests in ensuring that these important questions are correctly resolved; that the Second Amendment is not treated as a second-class right; and that law-abiding Americans in this Circuit are not deprived of the full opportunity to enjoy the exercise of their Second Amendment rights.

BRIEF FOR THE UNITED STATES AS AMICUS CURIAE IN SUPPORT OF PLAINTIFFS-APPELLEES AND SUPPORTING AFFIRMANCE
Pam Bondi doubters of her support of the 2nd Amendment should consider reevaluating their opinions.

And others.
This is a big deal. I see it as moving the Overton Window in the direction of prosecutions under 18-USC-241 and 242.
This is good. But as slowly as the courts move, we might have two more presidents and five SC justices change before this reaches SCOTUS. Things need to move faster.
It may be academic in a decade. If there is a general dissolution of the US of A into 2, 3, 5 or more parts because of irreconcilable differences, the west coast of WA would turn into a hard-left commie heck-hole with totally rewritten state constitutions and no federal constitution oversight.
Agreed, but I doubt they could last long on their own. Like they tried in downtown Seattle a while back?
Communists are parasites. They can’t live for long with a host to suck dry.
No matter what, we Americans need to keep up the BFYTW attitude.
It’s served as well since Plymouth rock. And it seems to be our one great super-power.
And not the first time it changed governments.
Jesus was the master at it. And look what that created.
I know they can’t last long. OTOH, I’m afraid of how many they’ll kill or asset-strip as they crash and burn. Considering I’m currently in the greater Seattle area, it’s more than likely the officially-sanctioned looting will get to me before the final collapse.
“Communists are parasites. They can’t live for long with [out] (sic) a host to suck dry.”
It’s entirely possible that in a few years the Left Coast Triad runs hard aground if the other 47 reduce their financial engagement (aka “federally-funded support”).
Not that there aren’t Commie States elsewhere who are at least partially dependent upon the familial largesse of the rest of the Union, but most of them aren’t isolated in the country’s rump time zone, nor are most of them in as sad a shape as Kali. Could be that if / when “The Big One” hits, the 47 just write off the 3 as not worth the money, time and effort to recover, fence it off and move on.
Which reminds me – how’s that bunker coming, Joe? “Escape from Bellevue” probably wouldn’t make a good live action movie, and I think Kurt Russel might be a little too old to believably play the “Snake” Huffman character, not to mention all the other co-stars are no longer with us. Besides, you just might have ocean-side views from there some day.
Actually, California, Oregon and Washington west of the cascade/Sierra Nevada’s could form their own country and do quite well.
The problem is the brainwashing. They can’t use logic and tech to build things. Only steal and destroy from that which is already built.
Truly sad. But it’s all communists can do.
It’s not unreasonable to recover (rescue?) those areas east of the Cascades and the Sierra Nevada range (much discussion and activity afoot RE: “Greater Idaho”, the secession of counties from Washington, and Oregon, into a larger Idaho).
If coastal Washington, Oregon and California want to merge and go it together I think that should be encouraged; combining the three coastal areas would reduce the total Leftist representation in both houses of Congress, and if that area becomes an economic powerhouse, so much the better for the entire US. It would also remove the Brain Dead Boot from the necks of Americans in eastern California, Oregon and Washington.
Make the Far Left Coastal Strip the 51st state (perhaps name it Utopia?), cede the conservative eastern parts of those states which would preserve them much as they are today, scale back, or eliminate completely, federal support for all states, it could work.
I’d like to find the actual agreements and laws behind the ‘Point of Contact” states that do their own background checks.
These agreements also allow the states to register sales and restrict the sales of items legal at the federal level. To me, the easiest way for Trump to open up restricted states would be to revoke/ rescind/ nullify these agreements and force the states to justify them or renegotiate new ones.
I’d love to see a policy that no state can be tighter than federal law, but I don’t see that happening…
