Just Not Thinking

Quote of  the Day

It would be difficult to find a more perfect example of the core flaw within the gun-control movement’s approach to politics than is provided here. Throughout the interview, both Arney and Vargo simply assume that the answer to the problem must be more gun control. They assume that the only important question is why America’s legislatures have not yet passed restrictions on our freedom.

In their estimation, the destination is set; what matters is how the media can build sufficient enthusiasm, anger or heartbreak to get the voters there. That the country might be filled with people who disagree with their monomania seems never to have occurred to them. To them, gun control is the obvious solution, and, if it hasn’t happened yet in the ways they favor, then it must be because Americans are a frivolous people who consider the criminal use of firearms to be “unimportant,” who resist calls for regulation out of childish spite and who prefer to ignore the issue than consider it seriously—none of which is true.

More Proof That Gun-Control Activists Just Aren’t Thinking | An Official Journal Of The NRA (americas1stfreedom.org)

I will accept the average “person on the street” isn’t thinking and/or they believe making private firearm ownership illegal will make people safer (it never has and never will). But the long time advocates and politicians? No. They have had it pointed out to them so many times by so many people and the data is so clear, they know better. And yet they still demand gun control. These people have an agenda other than public safety.

Prepare and respond appropriately.

  1. Keeping firearms legal is a necessary but not sufficient solution. People have to be able and willing to carry them.

    • They don’t pay the price for their failures. Whenever reality fails to conform to their expectations, it’s obviously reality that is wrong.

But that’s true in many topics, not just liberty and the arms that necessary to that state of freedom.

  2. Politicians are CONSTANTLY pushing things that the average voter doesn’t want, because that is what those holding the kompromat demand they support. Who wants an open border, outsourcing jobs, DEI surgeons operating on them, expensive housing, or massive and invasive surveillance? Nobody. What does the State push? All that and more.

The destruction of the American nation and her people is deliberate.

    • Who benefits from increased government power? Politicians do. More government power is more power for them. It’s more campaign contributions and more kissing the ring from those that need protection from government agencies. And when bureaucratic SNAFU’s are something people must go to their Congressman to straighten out, it gives that Congressman more power, more voters to keep them in power, and more bribes disguised as campaign contributions.

Politicians are the most powerful interest group in Washington DC or any other capital city, and no matter what they promised us, most will follow their own interests until enough voters notice and vote them out.

And they regularly practice something that never occurs to us. That being, the man on the street. Joe & Jane Normy.
They don’t give a crap about them, and they never will. They just claim them at every turn. Oh, the people want this, the people want that.
“The people” means about as much to the communist as “democracy”.
    Means to an end.
As Rolf points out, NOBODY wants any of this crap going on except those in power.
We need to think in the same manner. God and the constitution gave us the right to defend ourselves. We shouldn’t care what people think, (if it’s gun control then they obviously aren’t thinking.) Any or all of them.
If you can’t read and comprehend the reasoning of 2A?
    You have no standing.
    As for the politician/communist?
Communism is a crime against humanity.
