Generally, the word gun, for those who are worried about research in this area, is followed by the word control, and that’s not what I want to do here. I’m not here about gun control. I’m here about preventing gun violence and gun death.

CDC Director wants the agency to take on firearm violence for the first time in decades: ‘I’m not here about gun control’
[Wow! That was impressive. On her first venture into the 2nd Amendment arena she tripped and fell flat on her face into a tar pit and is unlikely to ever get the stain off her reputation.
She completely, unambiguously, showed her evil hand with the phrase, “preventing gun violence and gun death.” If she had substituted “criminal” for “gun” in the phrase I would have given her a C+ and offered her some suggestions for remedial Constitutional law. But she didn’t. She completely failed.
Apparently she doesn’t understand (and/or is engaged in deliberately deception) there is such a thing as necessary violence and death. And frequently a gun is the most effective way to delivery that necessary violence. There are people that need to be shot, quickly and repeatedly, until they stop their violent attack on innocent people. In this article there is not even a hint that she is willing to acknowledge this.
Next there is the issue of prevention. You can only legally prevent gun violence and death by means similar that of the exercise of the 1st Amendment can be restricted. The government cannot legally prevent the falsely yelling of, “Fire!” in a crowded theater by gagging the theater patrons upon entry into the theater. They can only threaten people with prosecution for harming innocent people after the harmful act.

If she wants to examine human behavior as a disease. And therefor save human life. Why not start with abortion? I mean that’s like 50, 60 million life’s right there?

242 carries a possible death penalty, and doesn’t specify the means nor the place. So in fact it could include public hanging.
In the same nanosecond that anyone in the CDC begins to pronounce the word “gun” you know they’re engaging in deception and anti-constitutional, un-American activity. Anything which follows should in no way be taken seriously EXCEPT to regard it as evidence against them in their trials.
It has been decades, generations, since the enemies of liberty first thought to associate “gun violence” with “disease” and thus treat it as a “public health” issue. Hitler did it with race, and so I assume that’s where they got the idea (but in fact, Hitler got a lot of his ideas from the early 20th Century American Progressives).
Redefining the right to keep and bear arms as a “public health” issue is how they planned, long ago, to skirt the constitution. Don’t expect them to ever give it up. They’ve got the SCHMOVID scam going nicely, they’ve got the “Climate Change” scam going full throttle, and now everything under the sun is a “public health” or environmental “emergency”.
“Of course”, they’ll say, “we recognize, understand and deeply respect the rights of the individual, but in these troubled times we cannot afford to uphold the rights of a few at the expense of the lives of many, or indeed at the expense of the very survival of this planet we all share as a common home..”, and so on and on. It’s papal language, you’d recognize if you’d read any of their encyclicals (and none of you has any reply to it beyond, “Come and take it!”).
“Emergency powers” are absolute powers. They’ll never stop talking, and acting, in those terms until they’re forced to stop, via prosecution and conviction. And that, ladies and gentlemen, will never be done, because we’re stupefied girlish moral cowards. Our thought processes and perceptions are already working in favor of the enemy. Therefore the Romansh/leftist forces will indeed have their way with us. They’re having it right now. It’s only a matter of time before they have total power.
Go ahead and catalog the failures of the now already dead culture of liberty which grew out of the now already dead Protestant Reformation, but understand that there is no power on Earth capable of even thinking about solving the problem, much less actually solving it.

If they were serious about ‘gun violence’, they would push for laws to actually punish those who misuse guns. Dust off the Project Ice/Project Exile laws, and start prosecuting. Any crime committed with a firearm is automatically premeditated and is treated as such.

I get what you mean. law and order are most necessary to society. But tools are not the problem.
If I commit robbery. Does it matter if I used a knife or a gun as the tool of extortion?
