We spent fifty years fighting a gun registry. They built one anyway, and they didn’t need a single new law to do it.

There are now more than 120,000 automated license plate cameras across 5,000 American communities. They photograph every single vehicle that passes. Plate, time, location, and the stickers on your truck.

So nobody has to build a list of gun owners. They just search the gun store. The range. The gun show parking lot. The road home.

A registry only ever knew that you bought a gun. This knows how often you shoot, which range you shoot at, and whose truck was parked next to yours when you there.

No gun owner in America should tolerate this.

They also violate my Jews in the Attic Test. And if you want to get some bipartisan support mention how they can be used to catch women who travel across state lines to get abortions.

I could see suppressed launchers for green-tip 5.56 becoming popular.

  1. And remember it’s not just Flock: Axon (with a software development office in Seattle, btw) is also in this, and there will be plenty of others to fill any vacuum that appears. Without strong legal restrictions on cameras it’s just a hydra. We need broad resistance to a surveillance state in any and all forms, and need to grin and bear it when that resistance is made more effective by partnerships with the left. Strange bedfellows, yes, but on this issue they’re not the enemy.

  2. Sign whatever you like….won’t end the use of surveillance technology. The criminals in power suffer NO consequences for their criminality. And as long as
    that is the reality we all live in they have NO REASON to cease their criminal misconduct…and won’t.

    • Alternatives flowing from Unintended Consequences carry terrible personal consequences as Luigi Mangione could attest. We have to elect privacy-supporting officials, and the installed base of the deep state as it is commonly called has to be retired forthwith (Like that is going to happen).
      As I’ve said before, Privacy is the Twenty-First Century Myth.

      • It’s not a myth, it’s a choice, and currently we’re choosing the panopticon. There’s nothing preventing us from choosing freedom but our unwillingness to fight for it.

  3. If England is any indicator, there will be cameras watching cameras but better hidden. So any of you considering kinetic protest, be careful.

  4. People are starting to notice how invasive the surveillance is, and how much AI can piece together. They don’t care until they see it happen to themselves.

    How would you feel knowing that Meta could hand someone your address and pics of you kids? What could possibly go wrong? Remember, in the UK they have mass surveillance, and it’s used not to catch and prosecute the foreign rape gangs, but to target the white people protesting their white kids being raped by foreigners.
