I look forward to hearing more. What I expect is a lot of powerful legal stuff. I doubt we will hear, in so many words, what will be just as important. The proper ruling at SCOTUS, and enforced by the DOJ, will create a huge morale boost for us and the morale of the anti-gun people will crash. That change in attitude is what will make the heads explode and set the anti-gun movement back for generations.
Our side will have them on the run. They will have no defenses. We will, metaphorically, be chasing them with torches and pitchforks.
People love to be on the winning side. They will be happy to donate money and see their abusers crushed in the courts. People will go to the range and laugh and tell jokes about the tears of the anti-gun leaders and the bankruptcies of their organizations.
We will be tearing down their remaining infringements in months and years that took them a century to construct. They will constantly on the defense and unable to even find a defensible position.
Any time an anti-gun people timidly proposes anything they will be hammered by “the plain text of the 2nd Amendment” from their opposition and even their lawyers. Shall. Not. Be. Infringed. What part do you not understand?
You forget that there’s nothing the Left loves more than a lost cause. They will double their ranks once they realize there is no hope.
I am very skeptical of that claim. Historic examples?
DEI. Renamed endlessly. Like gun control it is a lot of peoples’ rice bowl.
As near as I can tell from the situation at my work, DEI is dead or at least silent.
So DEI is a good example of a Lost Cause that still has a lot of supporters.

I hate to be “that guy”, I really do, but I had trouble understanding this sentence for a moment:

The word you were intending to use (in both cases) is “morale”. I generally try to ignore that stuff unless it causes difficulty, as in this case.

Funny thing – I ran across that exact mistake somewhere else today, too, completely unrelated to you. Hadn’t seen it since who knows when, 2 prominent and unexpected examples in one day. Life is strange.

That’s what made it extra hard to read – “moral” did sorta-mostly fit in the first instance but not at all in the second.
His lips to God’s ears. I’m hopeful Assault Weapons Bans will be struck down but I don’t know that we’ll get the sweeping decision we’d like. Robert’s it too willing to water down decisions to get a broader consensus than I’d like.
I saw a Washington Gun Law video yesterday where William Kirk was talking to Mark Smith. He’d like to see Viramontes deal exclusively with the AWB, and the Court remand the magazine ban cases for reconsideration based on the Viramontes ruling. Smith thinks that gets us stronger rulings on both the AWB and magazine ban cases. It made sense to me. He’s also wary of Roberts getting the decision weakened in hopes of an 8-1 or 9-0 ruling instead of 6-3.
With Ke”token brown” Jackson on the court, I get worried when I see 9-0. If she’s for it, that makes me worry.

In the meantime: The U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas, just found that the NFA (National Firearms Act) is unconstitutional as applied to suppressors, short barrel rifles and short barrel shotguns is unconstitutional due to a lack of connection to Article I of the US Constitution.
