Quote of the Day
We have officially entered the spaghetti phase of gun control. This is when those in favor of reducing or eliminating Americans’ gun rights introduce all manner of legislative schemes to restrict law-abiding citizens from purchasing, selling, making, and probably soon inheriting firearms, in the hope that something sticks to the wall.
Sometimes it’s a specific firearm, like the AR-15 rifle or a GLOCK pistol. Other efforts target broader categories of firearms such as all semi-automatic firearms.
Thanks to the Supreme Court of the United States and major legal opinions such as Heller and Bruen, gun control efforts have been hitting a brick wall.
That wall was erected in large part through the efforts of organizations like the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the NRA, the Second Amendment Foundation, Firearms Policy Coalition, Gun Owners of America and others. Those groups have taken on cases like these, pushing them up the judicial chain to the highest court in the land.
But alas, that hasn’t stopped state legislatures and candidates for public office from making up, well, effluvia. It’s as if they have a team sitting around just dreaming stuff up, which they clearly do.

We’ve Arrived at the Spaghetti Phase of the Gun Control Movement in America – Shooting News Weekly
The same political party did the same type of thing with all the Jim Crow laws, too. No sooner than one law would get struck down they would think of other laws to keep those “uppity black skinned people” under control.
And, of course, nearly all the original gun control laws in this country were originally intended to prevent blacks from being able to defend themselves from the KKK. The political party which likes to think of themselves as progressives is actually very regressive with things like gun control and socialism being the most obvious examples.
The thing to understand about the Left, at least in my lifetime, is that the root of nearly everything they say is a combination of 2 things
1) Assuming that they are the good people
2) Noticing their own horrible problems and (see number 1) assuming that everyone else must be much worse.
So, considering how much effort they put into racial things (with nothing but perfect intentions, of course!), we must all be horrible racists.
Etc. It is both depressing and insulting, but it explains a LOT of their problems and actions better than anything else I’ve seen.
Stale new man workers utopia delusions from the 19th century.
They want the guns so that purging can be done with no resistance.
The CPUSA (D) won’t stop until the hammer & sickle flies.
“Progressive” only makes sense in terms of what they are progressing towards, which is greater government involvement in all areas of life. Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican and a Progressive, and one of the big areas of his capital-P Progress was the national park system. Whether you view that as good or not, it still required increasing federal taxes on everyone to provide a government-operated service that only a few utilize each year, rather than incentivizing private operation.
Generally, however, all Progressivism in the US is regressing against the ideals of our Revolution, where is it not outright a violation of the 10th Amendment. The federal Constitution already enumerated everything the federal government is allowed to be involved in. All else is corruption and largely waste.
To me, Progressives, Socialists, Communists, and fellow travelers are have the ultimate goal of turning back the clock to feudalism where they few (they presume themselves) will control others through arbitrary enforcement of vague rules that they themselves don’t have to follow.
Stripped of all the flowery language, they want power and control without responsibility – the few ruling the many, claiming it to be for the the good of the many, but that is clearly just one of many excuses they make; enriching themselves at the public trough is, of course, a convenient and not at all intended side effect /sarc!
More specifically, like all Altruist/Collectivist/Statists, they wish to treat the individual as their PROPERTY, to be disposed of as THEY see fit, to satisfy THEIR desires – which means they REJECT the individual’s SOLE, monopolistic ownership of his OWN life and his OWN effort.
Put simply, they are ALL the same as the Southern Slave Owner.
The leftist commie gun grabbers operate from a position of complete advantage. They suffer ZERO consequences if their attempts to violate our Rights fail. They only need to succeed in passing an onerous law one time in a hundred…or a thousand…and they have succeeded whereas we must be successful in stopping them 100% of the time…or we lose. THAT needs to change. Anyone proposing legislation that provably violates a Right listed in the Constitution NEEDS to result in PRISON TIME for the person proposing it and for ANYONE who votes FOR it.
Only then can our Rights actually be safe.
Whch is why our host frequently laments the lack of prosecution under 18 U.S. Code § 242 – Deprivation of rights under color of law
Specifically:
“Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or to different punishments, pains, or penalties, on account of such person being an alien, or by reason of his color, or race, than are prescribed for the punishment of citizens, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.”
So, Dan, if you have, or are aware of, any mechanism available that will produce disciplinary action by the United States Department of Justice for violations of 18 U.S. Code Section 242 specifically relating to firearms Under the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution please don’t keep it a secret.

Given the accuracy of this comparison, shouldn’t the gun rights defenders be working on what essentially banned ALL the Jim Crow laws – ie something like the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts?
