This seemed a little off and I wanted to verify the exact details. As this was posted on Bluesk I had to create an account and search from probably close to an hour before I finally found it. The text searches did not find it because the words were in an image:
That is interesting. Do you see the difference? It still throws in the idea that the assassination is a gun problem rather than a people or rhetoric problem. But it is not the primary point.
The article was written by Paige Cornwell at the Seattle Times. But it was picked up and posted elsewhere:

No one, apparently, noticed the error in the quote.
If you haven’t noticed the difference, I’ll point it out for you. Ms. Cornwell substituted “we all deserve gun safety” for “we all deserve safety.”
Perhaps I am hypersensitive to the phrase “gun safety.” Or perhaps Ms. Cornwell mistyped the quote in a hurry to get the article finished. Or the Washington State Democrats changed their post after Cornwell grabbed the quote. But a case can be made she did this intentionally. Copilot could not find any history of reporting on gun ownership in any form and tends toward it being an inadvertent error.
I have sent Ms. Page an email about the error. If I get a response, I will edit this post.
In related news, there are both Democrats and the Republicans jumping to conclusions about the motive of the shooter without evidence to support their beliefs. Some Rs claim the Ds are terrorists and should be hunted down and held responsible. Some Ds claim it was a false flag operation to distract from Trump’s involvement with Epstein and/or to justify the creation of a fascist state.
Having just finished Gun Control in the Third Reich: Disarming the Jews and “Enemies of the State” (a good book, BTW), I can easily see the parallels to Nazis using political assassinations as justification for extermination of minorities/political-opponents. And, of course, the political left has a tendency to view violence as just another form of speech.
I’m going to wait for evidence before expressing an opinion. However, it is full speed ahead on getting the underground bunker in Idaho livable.
If you’re the praying type. Pray for our Republic. There are far too many echos of the run up to the Spanish Civil War for comfort. Also today we should remember that 24 years ago today, two score Jihadist dickheads murdered 3000+ mostly civilians in NYC, the Pentagon and a farm field in Pennsylvania
And don’t forget the 100,000 a year murdered with Chinese/cartel/big pharma drugs.
To say nothing of the general poisoning of society at large.
One might consider that the communists having studied all previous communist failures have decided on a composite revolution?
Why not use them all?
At least that’s what it looks like to me.
Kind of like “unrestricted warfare”?
So what if the perp is never found. The evidence will never be discovered. And yet we need to draw some conclusions. I really don’t need to psychoanalysize the shooter. The reaction to the assassination by the Left is enough for me. Not to mention the many episodes of violence in the past and the constant rhetoric.
It matters whether it was a false flag event or not.
Not really. That is highly unlikely and again the public statements coming from the Left are enough for me.

There is an abundance of posts on social media today from former Democrats and Independents who are pledging to register as Republicans today. Abundance agenda will not erase the thousands of ghoulish posts celebrating Kirk’s murder. I too hope we find a way out of this as a country, but the Democrats aren’t likely to fix their problems anytime soon.
The writer seems decent but is obviously more connected to the Left than I am.
All you have to know is who they murdered.
That tells you all the why’s.
Besides, we don’t need to know exactly who did it.
It was the side that likes “social justice”.
And they might have pushed it to the point that they get some in return for once.

And OK, but what about targeted assassinations? You didn’t mention those.
Those seem pretty OK with the base you brainwashed.
Let’s examine the rules of engagement established by the modern democrat communist party.
Bill Clinton said news media organizations and personal were considered enemy combatants in Serbia.
Targeted assassinations are perfectly fine with you against anyone even speaking out against you.
Terrorization of the population at large with crime and murder happen from you daily now.
And you’ve made polite discussion impossible.
We’ve also noticed that it’s all from one side. Yours.
We, on the other hand have worked patiently to preserve and protect society. Gently hoping you will see the light and error of your ways.

They found rifle in woods. Ammo had leftist slogans. Doesn’t preclude false flag but that is not the way to bet. All the blood dancing from the Left is real
