Over 50 Years of Failure

Quote of the Day

According to a Gallup poll taken the year after NCCH’s founding (1975), when asked “Do you think there should or should not be a law that would ban the possession of handguns, except by the police and other authorized persons?,” 41 percent of Americans stated that there should be. Asking the same question in 2018, only 28 percent of those polled supported such a measure.

After 45 years of failure to achieve their goal, a more introspective group might consider that there may be a defect in their ideas rather than their marketing. However, history suggests that it is only a matter of time before “Brady” undergoes yet another name change. They should spare themselves the consulting fees. Continuing the trend of creating ever more concise names, the group should further truncate “Brady” to just “Y.” As in: Why does this decrepit handgun prohibition organization still exist?

Y indeed? That was in 2019. It has now been over 50 years of mostly failure, lies, and more lies.

Their founding goal was to ban all handgun possession except for a few exceptions. They have failed after trying for over fifty years. And they have even lost ground with public carry now being (mostly) acknowledged as a constitutionally protected right in all 50 states.

Since 2019 they have changed their name, yet again, to “Brady United” and cannot even afford to hire an intern.

The dustbin of history is their future.

  1. OTOH, if their real reason is the fundraising grift and distract / bleed resources from conservatives while the commie-left does other things, then they are a spectacular success.

  2. Agreed, long passed dustbin time. If not for criminal elites it would have never existed.

As for the “National Rifle Association of America, Institute for Legislative Action”.
Wake me up when they figure out what “shall not be infringed” means.
Till then they are more than worthless. And have only acted as a part of the system for misdirection.
With the trajectory of the 34’NFA, (Who wanted to ban handguns at the same time.)
We would have had a second revolution by now. And might have been totally communist free at this point.
But here we find ourselves listening to the “senate parlitburo-mentarian” telling the elected senate (and us by extension). a bill that says on it’s header it is to establish a tax.
This is the congressional intent of ’34 NFA.
” To provide for the taxation of manufacturers, importers, and dealers in certain firearms and machine guns, to tax the sale or other disposal of such weapons, and to restrict importation and regulate interstate transportation thereof.”
Can’t be gotten rid of through reconciliation because it’s not a tax.
    Wait,,,,, what????
Thune, Vance, (and by extension us), just have to listen to this anti-law utter horse-shit?
The whole idea that we have to live by their laws. But they get to rule over ours.
Should have been dead and gone more than 50 years ago.
NRA-ILA have protected our rights a whole lot less than they have the politicians that should have been hung outside the capital by now.

  3. “The dustbin of history is their future.”
Probably not. Those who engage in this grift find it too lucrative to ever let it go away.
    David Hogg ring a bell?

  4. The gun grabbers will NEVER give up and NEVER go away. There efforts are subsidized by OPM….it’s not their “skin in the game” so they don’t care how much $$$ is wasted every year on trying to disarm us. Total control over society absolutely requires that they disarm us. And since their utopia and heaven is total control over everyone and everything they can NEVER give up on trying to ban guns. Thus we can NEVER give up on fighting them. It’s not a battle or war that can ever end.

  6. “Y indeed?”

As someone once said, they can’t be bargained with. They can’t be reasoned with. They don’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And they absolutely will not stop… ever.

    Plus grift.
