Quote of the Day
The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms joined a broad coalition of gun rights advocates and political leaders in what has so far been a successful effort to reform the 1934 National Firearms Act by removing suppressors from NFA regulation as part of the budget reconciliation package.
In a letter to Congress members Jodey C. Arrington, chair of the House Budget Committee and Virginia Foxx, chair of the House Rules Committee, the coalition of nearly 100 Second Amendment leaders including CCRKBA Managing Director Andrew Gottlieb demanded inclusion of portions of the Hearing Protection Act (H.R. 404) in the budget reconciliation bill, known as the “Big, Beautiful Bill.” In a 215-214 vote early Thursday, the House passed the package with HRA provisions intact.

CCRKBA JOINS EFFORT TO REFORM 1934 NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT | Citizens Committee For The Right To Keep And Bear Arms
There have been many efforts to get this reform through congress. To the best of my knowledge, this is the most progress that has ever been made.
All good and wonderful. Truly wonderful.
And thank you Joe, for all the time and money you spent to get it there!
“To the best of my knowledge, this is the most progress that has ever been made.”
90 years and countless murders, harassment/bureaucratic theft.
It had to be scabbed on to a spending resolution that passed by one vote. And copious amounts of arm twisting were needed just to get it kept there.
Our forefathers have never been proved more right about the nature of power and those it attracts than on the gun control issue.
Let us never forget what government truly thinks of us. Which obviously ain’t much.
Could be a bit of trouble for those of us in Washington that already have suppressors.
RCWs > Title 9 > Chapter 9.41 > Section 9.41.250
(1) Every person who:
(c) Uses any contrivance or device for suppressing the noise of any firearm unless the suppressor is legally registered and possessed in accordance with federal law, is guilty of a gross misdemeanor punishable under chapter 9A.20 RCW.
You know they’re going to be all giddy about the “legally registered” part if registration at the federal level goes away.
Note that the law is about using a suppressor, not possessing it. WA state law does not bar the possession of silencer/suppressors (yet). Also note that there is no law enforcement exception.
Register it with Joe’s suppressor registration service. It features a write only database for maximum privacy and minimal storage requirements. You get an optional printout for proof of registration.
I’ll buy that for a dollar!
One can ‘charitably’ say that filling out a Federal ATF form 4473 is “registering”, as the transaction is retained by the dealer (and now) kept as long as the dealer is in business, then turned in to ATF when going out of business.
And since that would be the only remaining requirement to be possessed in accordance with federal law, I think that covers WA law.
But that’s just me.
