California has been a particularly egregious offender.

California Governor Gavin Newsom even called for a “28th Amendment” to restrict Second Amendment rights after recent pro-Second Amendment decisions from the Supreme Court.
To make things worse, many California localities appear to be imposing additional burdens beyond those required by state law, including by imposing expensive fees and lengthy wait times for concealed handgun licenses.

There is more, but you get the drift. Newsom’s own tweets were quoted, and I presume will be used at his trial.
I believe I have been pushing for this longer than anyone. I first read the law back in the early 2000s and talked to other gun owners about it. No one could imagine it happening. And nothing did happen.
There was a time when blacks in the deep south believed there would never be prosecutions for the KKK terrorism. They also believed there would be no justice for the lynchings.
Times change. And the time for gun owners to believe in justice has arrived. We have long known that prosecutions are needed to stop the relentless oppression. New laws are created faster than the courts can respond. There must be consequences for their criminal acts.
And now there is a serious threat of consequences.
If prosecutions actually take place, I will search through all the comments. I will look for those who insisted the trials would never happen. Then I’m going to put them all in one blog post. And I will give one last lecture on moving the Overton Window. And how things happen in a manner similar to an earthquake. The pressure builds and then there is a sudden shift as things slip into a new alignment. There is a new reality. A reality that most people were unable to see just a short time before.
Then we can all enjoy the trials together.

I have certainly been pessimistic though I can’t remember if I posted that here. I am still pessimistic about convictions given inferior court nullification and Supreme Court spinelessness but, hey, the process is the punishment. Tossing some judges and prosecutors in solitary for a couple of years while they are awaiting trial would be a good thing.
There will be no trials. The leftist in Kali will “play along” till Bondi, Patel etc. are no longer in control of anything. They will pretend to make changes to the CCW process and they will play the game. They may sacrifice a low level scapegoat or two or pay some fines. But NOBODY of any importance in Kali is going to actually be meaningfully punished. Because if that happens then when the other side regains power which is inevitable than they will toss THEIR enemies in prison. So NEITHER side actually holds the other accountable in a meaningful fashion. It’s just the way the system is…. The only people who are ever tried and punished are lowly peon citizens. I wish I was wrong….but that’s just not how the real world works.

And, as for Newsom wanting a “28th Amendment,” there’s a simple way for him to avoid having to deal with any of that pesky Constitution – secede.
If Trump were smart, he could arrest, try, and convict, most the communist control proletariat before the mid-terms.
2A is the clearest legal language ever wrote. Writing a law in violation of it is as easy a conviction as any prosecutor could ask for.
Did you swear an oath to the constitution?

Would you please read for the court the highlighted part of the 2nd. amendment to the constitution I just handed you.
“The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” But.
Is that your signature on this law restricting bearable arms?
Well, yes, but.

And he should start with Newsom. Then move on to anybody else that was ignorant enough to put their signature on paper.
Intestinal fortitude, and the lack thereof. Is the problem.
