People that Understand Versus People Who Have Power

Quote of the Day

The people who understand things have no power but to scream at the people who don’t understand them, and they never listen, because stupid people don’t know they’re stupid.

They will try communism again.

“DON’T DO THAT, YOU’LL KILL EVERYONE.”

“I didn’t know that would happen!”

They will open the borders and let in millions of hostile people.

“DON’T DO THAT, THEY WILL TAKE OVER ONCE THEY OUTNUMBER YOU.

“I didn’t know that would happen!”

Speaking to the stupid is a waste of time and giving them power is suicide.

While this applies to a sizable portion of the population. Those with the power and creating the disasters know what are doing. While some of them are stupid, most are not. Their motives are unrelated to the needs of their constituents.

Part of the problem is that “the people who understand” are totally outclassed when it comes to persuasion. Those who have power are at the top of the persuasion game.

  1. I’ve had this conversation many times, you won’t get very far assuming your opponents/adversaries/competitors/etc. are stupid.

They might playing the same game in a different way, and/or with different priorities and/or different end goals, and they might be quite clever about it.

Usually my conversation partner acknowledges this point, but then a few months later is back to square one.

  2. Yup. And that’s ultimately why criminal negligence has the same penalty as criminal intent.
And why our forefathers absolutely distained “democracy”. Cause all the evil ones have to do is convince the stupid ones to vote for “IT”.
And you end up with what we got here day.
A modern society that thinks it can change it chromosome structure through dressing up, taking drugs, and getting plastic surgeries.
And an evil caste that love to manipulate it all. Everything down to your water heater. (Isn’t some government group back east wanting to tax orgasms?)
It all never ends because it’s human nature. Good vs. evil. With the stupid trapped, constantly shifting in between those polar opposites.
Such is the cycle of empires. And it isn’t going to change anytime soon.
We can only defend ourselves against its outcomes. In the age we find ourselves, using what weapons we can marshal.
It promises to be a constant battle our entire life’s.
Jesus called it 2,000 years ago; “They say peace, peace, when there is no peace.”
And there never can be peace while good, evil, and stupid roam the earth.

    • Shamelessly stolen from “Josey Wales”, on GAB.
“Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on, or by imbeciles who really mean it.”
      Mark Twain

  3. I heard this before and I thinks this applies.

This is either extreme narcissism disguised as empathy or they are so narcissistic that they are not even self aware of it to such and extreme they think they are being empathetic.
