Quote of the Day
After Trump first got elected in 2016, the legacy media wrote nonstop about how misinformation was a threat to democracy.
…
We tried in good faith to address those concerns without becoming the arbiters of truth, but the fact-checkers have just been too politically biased and have destroyed more trust than they’ve created, especially in the U.S.

Zuck Finds His Spine
See also Mark Zuckerberg was right to fire Facebook’s rogue fact-checkers:
These changes are wildly positive. It’s also heartening that Zuckerberg seems to understand precisely what had gone wrong, and why: The company made attempts to satisfy both mainstream media institutions and even government agencies, particularly when it came to controversial political topics like COVID-19. What moderators soon discovered is that this is impossible; there is no end to the amount of speech suppression that is desired by censorship-inclined entities. Politicians in both parties dragged Zuckerberg before the U.S. Congress to answer for a vast array of alleged sins—the end of democracy, the abuse of children, tensions with Russia, and more.
What unites legacy media institutions with politically motivated speech hunters in government is growing frustration over their own loss of control with respect to guardrails of acceptable speech. Thanks to social media, these guardrails scarcely exist; by inveighing constantly against Facebook, the old guard hoped to re-install them.
I read a thread someplace. Perhaps it was on X. It seemed that both Democrats and Republicans were throwing “rotten vegetables” at him over this announcement. Those on the political left are saying he is a sellout. He is just doing this to avoid being on the wrong side of Hitler. People on the right were saying they don’t trust him and the change comes much too late.
I am cautiously optimistic. But I won’t give them any significant trust until we are a couple years into a Democrat presidency. I need to see them on good behavior regardless of which direction the political winds are blowing.
Joe, I like your comments. As polarized as politics is right now, it’s really hard to try to determine Zuck’s reasoning – but if he remains steadfast in trying to maintain freedom of expression through wavering political climates, I think it’s a good indication that he is on the right track.
It almost seems as though the less liberal Democrats have backed off from the “Trump is Hitler” and “MAGA are evil” pronouncements. I sure would like to see legislators start to work together more and actually solve problems instead of just circling their wagons.
There is the stupid party and the evil party. When they work together, they produce laws that are both stupid and evil
I still remember what he said and *did* in past.
This man will lie, strictly from habit.
Trust but verify.
Note that he said he will end “political” censorship – not all censorship.
For example, I doubt he will cut back on blocking gun content.
The ZuckerBorg is just shilling for sympathy. He never gave a rats ass about the truth. He’s only trying to cover his ass so he doesn’t get it stuck in a sling for his willful participation in the lefts crime spree.
Or maybe it’s all a lot more sinister than we see on the outside. What we know is that we don’t think like megalomaniacs. Or shall we say MAGAlomaniacs?
Could it be that Musk, Vivik, and Theil decided to just do a hostile takeover on clown-world?
Hack in and set all the Dominion machines to the proper vote count settings? Or even give Trump an advantage? Who’s to complain?
Hack the FBI/CIA and have copies of everything clown-world has been using to blackmail and control politics for the last 100 years?
Fly down to Mar-a-lago and I’ll show you what we got on you, and give you instructions on “who’s your daddy now.” To everyone in power? Zucker sure seems like he’s being controlled. As do they all.
Clown-world wants everybody dead. If you have the power, why not take it from them? You got nothing to lose. And control of damn near the whole world if you win.
And I’m sorry, but taking Greenland is F’ing brilliant. It’s going to be the control center for the whole world in the future.
The real problems is that after we get finished removing 40 million illegal invaders. What do you do with your army? Think police are bad now? Just wait.
Tech will be just as insidious a master as clown-world. Maybe worse.
Authoritarian in a heartbeat. And a Tom Homan trained domestic army to back it up.
I’m short and believe in Jesus. So not much of a problem for me.
But you’all ain’t no where near heard the last out of satan yet. Believe that, if nothing else.
Interesting hypothesis. Someday. I should explain “analysis of competing hypotheses.”
Then, we could more easily collaborate on figuring out the most likely truth of the situation.
Leopard, spots.
