While I think this is overstated to make the point, I do think it has more than a little truth in it. And that is very depressing. It is between the sane and insane. It is war about reality and delusions.

I’m a math teacher. That war is already being fought. Not at my particular school, being a private (Christian) school with a good curriculum, but in the broader sphere of the Western educational establishment, it very much is.
It’s not just math, it’s across the spectrum. Any deviation from liberal orthodoxy is treated as heresy. If you say “even top Israeli scholars say six million is too high, it was at most 1.5M who died,” or “everyone had slaves pretty much everywhere, and more Europeans were enslaved by the Muslims and taken to Africa than there were black Africans taken to North America,” you are immediately branded as a “denier” an anti-Semite, a racist, a bigot, etc.
“Five lights,” indeed.
A good lawyer can tell you, as Professor Augustus van Dusen, Ph.D., L.L.D, F.R.S., M.D., M.D.S., “the Thinking Machine”, is fond of saying, that Two plus Two equals Four; not just some of the time, but all of the time. a GREAT lawyer can tell you when 2 + 2 = 10, or even 2 + 2 = 11, without violating any law of mathematics.
I do not expect any graduates of teaching colleges or anyone who earned education degrees of any level to know this, so they should defer to their betters, which include every engineer, whether Civil, Electrical; Aeronautical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer, not just now, not just sometimes, but every time.
What this obscures, is that *all* questions must occur within a context. Here the unspoken context includes: a) all listeners and the speaker share common assumtions made by all mammals. b) all listeners share common assumtions made by virtually all humans, such as that we all have ten fingers, and therefore all numeric values will be expressed in base 10 unless specific context to the contrary is indroduced prior to the query. etc…
It is highly *disengunuous* (an attempt at deceit) to suggest otherwise. Within the default context of virtually *all* human cultures, two twos *always* sum to four. Exceptions, involve exceptional context… AND within that exceptional context the sum of two twos will *STILL* have a single and certain sum.
This bullshit is an attempt to claim that truth is subjective, that there is no such thing as reality. This is war against TRUTH itself, against the god of truth. It is war with reality.
Math is not well understood by the general population, and that statistic is getting worse exponentially. Now, understanding math is no longer a source of respect.
No mathematcal questions have uncertain answers within certain context. But even so, most folks think that multipication and division are reverse functions, that one can be undone by the other… and this is not so:
There are no two numbers that cannot be multiplied to produce a certain answer, however, one cannot divide by zero. Some think that doing so results in infinity, or zero, but neither is true. What *is* true, is that allowing division by zero to have *any* answer at all, allows you to prove six equal four by simple algebra. So dividing by zero cannot have meaning.
Another way to notice the same problem, is how I discovered it:
Say you are writing code for an 8 bit processor with both 8 bit multiply and 8 bit divide native instructions. Say your code must produce 16 bit multply and 16 bit divide routines. When writing your 16bit multply routine, you can make use of the native 8bit mutiply instruction. However, when writing your 16bit divide routine, the native 8bit divide instruction is of no use whatsoever.

Some guys repaving your driveway or mowing your lawn or painting your house, you can’t move those things out of the country and bring them back when they are through, so we bring people in or let hungry people in. The H1B visa jobs are the same thing, except they have a skill and can ask for more money. Hence the provision that if you change jobs you have to go back to your home country.
