In another question, 10% of Americans — or the equivalent of 26 million adults — said they believed political violence is justified to prevent Trump from becoming president again.

A second assassination attempt against former President Trump raises new questions (msn.com)
The ratio of people on the left willing use violence compared to people on the right in consistent with my hypothesis.
With 26 million people believing violence is justified to stop Trump from reaching office we should expect assassination attempts every few weeks. And every attempt against Trump increases the likelihood of an attempt on Harris.
Remember, the spark that started WW1 was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. A civil war could easily be sparked by a political assassination in this country.
Prepare appropriately.
And how many of those 18 million are of the opinion that the best thing for the United States is the complete and total mandated extermination of the entire population of the United States that voted for Trump? Or own guns? Or have opinions they don’t like?
Right now roughly 6% of the entire United States population are a bunch of Alison Airies. I’m sure it’s higher.
They don’t just hate you and want you dead. This 6% wants all opposition literally exterminated by the government. This amounts of hundred of million of people. And they already RIGHT NOW control the government.
The only saving grace is most of them won’t act out on their desires.
Don’t mix up the sides. The “Alison Aires” of the nation don’t number 6%; they number 10%.
The 6.9% believe that violence is justified to restore Trump to the White House. This is about 18m adults, presumably mostly from the Right.
And 10% believe violence is justified to keep Trump out. This is about 26m adults, presumably mostly from the Left.
There are two disturbing points to be made here:
1. 16.9% Americans — or about 1 in 6 adults — believe politically-motivated violence is justified to get the outcome they desire.
2. 40-50% more American adults are willing to commit violent acts to keep Trump out than would commit violence to get him back in.
IOW, our nation is becoming a political powder keg, and the Left is significantly more likely to commit political violence than the Right. (For now. But if attempts on Trump’s life continue, the probability increases that someone on the Right will decide enough is enough, and the probability is much higher they’ll be more competent at it.)
But according to the media and DOJ propagandists (but I repeat myself), you and I are the violent extremists for even talking about this situation.
I’ll be interested to watch how many of your commenters skip over the 18 million people who want to use force to put Trump in power.
7% vs. 10%. Not a big difference. Significant, yes, but not so much that you can say one side is a bunch of violent psychos and the other is a bunch of peaceniks. Looks to me like both parties have a violent streak.
How many of the 7% and !0% are Federales trolling for fools. It’s not like this tactic hasn’t been used before against both Left and Right.

Well, when the democrats have called every candidate, as well as sitting republican president, since Eisenhower the reincarnation of Hitler, and the verified mantra of the left is ‘By Any Means Necessary’. Plus from the examples given in Joe’s linked prior article, I think it’s obvious where the true violence problem lies.

How many conservative leaders have been assassinated in the past 100 years vs. liberal?
My list includes two Kennedys, MLK, and Malcom X. I don’t know of any prominent American conservatives who have been killed (the attempt at Reagan wasn’t even political).
And the assassins for the Kennedy’s was a communist (or communist CIA, if you will.) and a muslim.
MLK was shot by a southern democrat KKK member.
And who f–king cares about Malcolm X? He’s a communist. Whoever shot him should have been given tax free status for life.
And you forgot the attempt on Reagan, also done by a liberal.
Malcolm X was probably shot by someone working for Elijah Muhammed. Not exactly a conservative. Motivation was probably the internal split in the Black Muslim movement.
If MLK was actually shot by a KKK type, odds were good that it was FBI inspired which then and now is heavily infiltrated in the KKK. However, using a contract killer is not the KKK style. They would do it themselves. King was in Memphis to support striking garbage workers. Who controls that industry. The Mafia that’s who and they do use contract killers. RFK was killed by a Palestinian radical, not any sort of rightist.

I would ask which side has more guns? Really good guns with trigger pullers that actually shoot. A lot.

And as a matter of facts. Since most of murders that take place in America are in democrat run cities. With mostly violent democrat drug runners killing each other over drug territory.
It’s clear that it’s the democrats that are willing to use violence to settle perceived problems. Political or otherwise.

“Prepare appropriately.” Yeah, that’s a pipe dream. If civil war breaks out, no amount of prepping will save the majority of us. Unless you live far from civilization and are have independent sources of water, food and power, plus the ability to protect them, you’re fooked. I hearken back to the tales from places like Yugoslavia and Bosnia, where cities and towns were reduced to rubble and snipers were a constant threat to anyone who poked their nose outside. Adding to the chaos, the democrats have salted millions of opportunistic, criminal aliens across our land.
I fear you are correct that if one of these attempts is successful, on either side, the violence will spiral out of control. May God protect us.

I saw my first “Harris / Walz” signage in the wild on someone’s property yesterday.
It the only house in the entire neighborhood that’s had police cars stacked up six deep on what appeared to be a domestic violence call. I watched one of the residence (a younger man, adult son I think) taking the trash out to the curb two years ago by himself, double masked and beating a quick retreat w/o interaction while I was still more than 50 yards away, looking fearful of human contact during the huge and scary pandemic. This was after it was dying down and even in this lunatic area most people went into stores unmasked by then.
That’s the mentality of the solid H/W voter. Do not expect rational behavior from them.

Yes. Big, obvious, contrasting colors, two types/color of bands going back around the head over fairly short hair.
I mean, yes, maybe it could have been a home made “single” super-mask for the ultra-paranoid uber-crafty total moron, but it very much looked like much more than a simple single disposable face-diaper so many people were wearing. It was to clownish and obvious it was memorable.
Also, distance given approximate; definitely more than max distance at an indoor range like Wade’s or West Coast Armory.
Yes…the left is willing to use violence. They always have been. History proves this to anyone actually studying it. And the left LOVES it when our side touts “nonviolence” as the only way we should deal with them. Because the left knows that VIOLENCE IS GOLDEN. It is the final and ultimate arbiter of who wins any contest. Washington, Jefferson, Adams etc. didn’t “nonviolence” the British. They SHOT THEM. And that is what it will take to deal with OUR evil opposition.
