He never said school shootings are “a fact of life”.
He said whackos who want to target schools and kids are a fact of life — which is 100% true — and that we must deal with them before they cause much (or ideally, any) damage.
The Left will claim it’s a distinction without a difference, but the connotations are wildly different. The Left claims Vance said carnage and death in schools is a fact of life we have to deal with; what he actually said was that the people who would inflict carnage and death on our kids exist, their existence is a fact of life, and we have to learn to deal with them before they can cause great harm.
IOW, evil exists, and contrary to the Left’s beliefs it is NOT evil to acknowledge its existence.
