Quote of the Day
We are faced with two prospects as of January 2025: the need for massive civil resistance in the face of unleashed repression, and what we might call “left federalism”—as in the ability of governors and legislatures in states like California, Illinois, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York to nullify federal edicts and keep democracy going. A frightening prospect of ever-increasing confrontation, but it may be all we have in the face of the coming juggernaut.

The Democrats Are Slow-Walking Into Fascism (msn.com)
Interesting. They envision:
Trump will then be entitled to claim an overwhelming mandate for his authoritarian rule: concentration camps for millions of undocumented people, a purge of the federal civil service, deploying the Department of Justice and the FBI to go after his opponents, and so much more.
Which, of course, there were not even hints of this in his first term. But the Obama and Biden administration did give us numerous examples of this sort of behavior.
It appears to me they are working themselves up into a frenzy such that things could get “spicy” in early November.
I would like to be in an underground bunker in Idaho for a week or two after election day.
State nullification… I seem to remember the same Democrat party doing that in 1861.
As for “concentration camps” — at least they wouldn’t be for citizens, as St. FDR did in the 1940s (by permission of a mentally defective SCOTUS).
Actually, in 1861 and immediately proceeding, it was Republicans doing nullification (of the Fugitive Slave Act). This was one of the factors that convinced the Southern States to secede. Secession is a different thing than nullification. As for nullification, Jefferson and Madison who knew a thing or two about the Constitution thought it was perfectly legal. During the crisis about the Alien and Sedition Acts, they were the drafters of the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions nullifying those acts.
Translation: They know illegal foreigners need to be deported en mas of the nation will be destroyed, they know the FBI and other TLAs are corrupt and need mass purging if not complete dissolution, his opponents are corrupt and controlled top to bottom and need a lot of “tree of liberty” watering, and they know they’ll (finally) be targeted for the crimes they have personally committed. They don’t believe in Divine punishment, so the best they can hope for is avoiding the consequences of their actions in this life. (aren’t they in for a surprise!)
Great comments y’all!
As Rolf and Joe allude to, the commies biggest fear is that they won’t get to do it to you. Before you do it to them.
And not being the smartest people from Harvard means you can’t keep your mouth shut about it.
“Nullify federal edicts to keep democracy going”?????? HAHAHAHAHA!
(Wouldn’t have democracy spoken in electing Trump? Just asking. I don’t like him either, but?)
Since when has anyone in government in the last 50 years given a crap about law? Law is for those without political power.
The real big fear is we all take Mao’s advice seriously. “Political power comes from the barrel of a gun”. (And we have more than any 10 armies in the world combined.) That’s why they say whites are the biggest threat. Cause we are.
Their scared shitless, and like most scared people they keep blathering on endlessly. (Ask any cop with interrogation skills.)
The situation for America is fixed, no way out. There’s a ditch in everyone’s future. How one ends up there is the big question.
We should heed the slogan from Galaxy Quest, “never give up, never surrender.”
Cause the communists sure won’t.
The left views democracy the same way EU bureaucrats do: it only counts if the “right” answer is produced. I remember, a decade or two ago, when a treaty to strengthen the EU was subjected to a vote of the people in two countries. One of them (Holland) rejected it. So the Dutch government and EU bureaucracy decided to repeat the vote in order to obtain the answer they wanted. And as it happened, they did.
Pretty sure that blackmail or bribery or both were involved in that.
Folks, they are “working themselves up” to assassination.
Damn, did I call it or what?
Sadly, you called it.
One of those times you wish you were wrong even though you know you’re not.
