They Need Common Sense Knife Control

Quote of the Day

At least four people were wounded, including a bishop with a global online following, in a knife attack during a service at a church in a suburb of Sydney on Monday, police and witnesses said, triggering clashes between angry residents and police.

It was the second major stabbing attack in just three days after six people were killed in a knife attack at a beachside mall in the Bondi area.

Australia church stabbing: bishop wounded, 15-year-old arrested

This is Australia. They banned and/or heavily restricted all firearms. I guess they now need common sense knife control.

As telling as the above is about their culture, I find the following gives us even more insight into the bizzarro mindset they have:

A separate eyewitness video, verified by Reuters and taken in the aftermath of the incident, shows the man being pinned to the ground by several others, his face obscured. A voice speaks in Arabic and says: “If they didn’t insult my prophet, I wouldn’t have come here. If he didn’t involve himself in my religion, I would not have come here.”

Authorities disclosed no motive for the attack and have not identified the suspect.

I cannot find further words to comment on this.

  1. “Authorities disclosed no motive for the attack and have not identified the suspect.”

The only reasonable explanations IMO are both related to “The Oil Must Flow”
1, TPTB have been paid off by the mooze.
2, TPTB have had their and their families lives threatened, are scared to death, and have neither the testicular, or intestinal fortitude to ‘bite back’

  2. Common Sense Common Sense Control would be so much more effective and cheaper: Don’t let the people inclined (for any reason) to unnecessary violence walk around in public without a minder.

If the authorities fail in this duty, suitably reward those that have to engage in necessary violence al fresco in defense of innocent life, including their own.

  3. Two things.
Who cares why he did it. Idiots are everywhere, doing ignorant violent crap all the time. I don’t need to know why snakes bite, only that they do. And if I’m in snake country.
If you don’t want to be ready and fight back in a heartbeat. Then you get to be dead. That’s just life in general. Why does everybody think it ain’t never going to happen to them? (Death, seems to me is the one thing everyone can rest assured of.)
And once again we see that no police were there to help. All the systems, background checks, laws, penalties, threats by all the government officials.
All fail, full stop. Nobody and nothing was there to help save anyone.
All that time, energy, money. Didn’t do nufh’um. Except maybe help some moron feel good about themselves for a few minutes. And some evil bastards get rich.
Those that want gun control want you dead.
The real question is; How obvious does that law of nature have to get?

  4. I guess it was a good thing that my mother taught me to get a thick skin when I was growing up. But hey, if I had known that the time would come when I could use being offended as a plausible excuse for eliminating those that offended me, well — I might have been sorely tempted. All joking aside, what kind of mental disability are we willing to coddle to avoid having to state the obvious, that is; whether you are offended or not, you infringed on another person’s liberty and life, therefore, you will pay the associated price for that. If you don’t like the price, don’t do the vice. If someone demonstrates that they are not willing to or cannot function in society, then put them where they can do no harm to others. Other than defamation or threats of physical violence, people should be able to say what they want. If you feel a gun or a knife is the correct response to that talk, then don’t be surprised by the results you receive.

  5. A voice speaks in Arabic and says: “If they didn’t insult my prophet, I wouldn’t have come here. If he didn’t involve himself in my religion, I would not have come here.”

Authorities disclosed no motive for the attack and have not identified the suspect.

There’s a fair amount to unpack here.

First, authorities don’t have to disclose a motive for the attack; the suspect is doing plenty of disclosing on his own.

Second, there’s this part: “A voice speaks in Arabic…” [emphasis mine]

A few possibilities come to mind:
    1. The authorities don’t know the motive because they don’t speak Arabic and couldn’t be arsed to find someone who does.
    2. They do know the motive, but they expect nobody in the community speaks Arabic so they feel they don’t need to disclose it (and probably don’t want to anyway), and they failed to anticipate the possibility the media corporations might have their own in-house translators and be less shy about sharing.
    3. The authorities know the motive and know the community soon will, too, but are too jelly-spined to say what needs to be said out loud for fear of “offending” more potential stabbers. As if anyone who does point it out — like that bishop, for example — isn’t taking the exact same risks.

  6. The saddest part is if some able-bodied bystander had given the guy wielding the knife a dirt nap HE would be in more trouble than the slasher.

Subjects aren’t allowed to defend themselves.

  7. They don’t need knife control.
They need to deport foreigners who are not highly motivated to integrate seamlessly into the fabric of existing society. “diversity” is toxic.
