I’m glad the people of the 21st District support my efforts to get assault weapons off Maryland streets once and for all.

Advocates for Assault Weapons Ban Sweep Close Contests in Maryland

They will usually counter with something like “yeah, but that’s just assault guns, which nobody needs. No one wants to take all your guns.” When you give them a quote from from someone that does say they want them all, they’ll counter with “that’s just a fringe loon.” When you point out it was a senator that said it, they’ll counter with “well, I don’t, but those icky black rifles have to go!” or something else ridiculous. Ever-moving goals posts, kind of like a political Zeno’s Paradox, always wanting half the remaining legal ground to their political goal, and claiming each step is a “reasonable compromise” because it doesn’t get all the way there.
I thank God daily that I no longer live in Maryland. It is a silly place.
