Anthropic’s engineers are shipping code at a pace that broke their own plumbing. The company says daily code merges climbed from approximately 2,500 in May 2026 to over 30,000 by September 2026.

That is a tenfold increase in roughly four months.

Claude AI is improving itself at a rate ten times faster than humans using AI were doing it four months ago.

2,500 changes per day is an extraordinary number. 30,000 changes per day is mind boggling.

Not only is the rate of improvement changing faster than we can really measure it, for all practical purposes there are no human observers of the changes. And as the AI gets smarter the rate of change will increase with the increased capability.

We live in interesting times. Prepare appropriately.
