Pre-Trump Republicans weren’t very good at this.
Post-Trump Republicans aren’t exactly great at it either!
Not to be just toooo big a jerk about it, but congratulations on discovering one of the primary concepts and purposes of civilization: larger groups can exempt more force.
That’s inherent. There’s no avoiding it. It isn’t (inherently) evil.
Now, large groups can (and often do) get co-opted for evil purposes by evil people (and sometimes, evil people group up explicitly for bad things, too), but grouping up is going to happen… and those that refuse to group up, to at least significant extent, have great difficulty defending themselves.
It can be worded like an inherently bad thing, but it isn’t. It’s how civilization works. It’s how humanity works.
Like Donald Trump and so many other things, it’s a package deal – the good AND the bad.
Ugh, “EXERT” not “exempt”. Derp derp derp. Sorry for that.
