Quote of the Day
I’m really excited about this. For the first time, the DOJ Civil Rights Division and the DOJ at large will be protecting and advancing our citizens’ right to bear arms as part of our civil rights work. Some of the things we’re seeing, and that is going to be the focus of our work around the country, include multi‑thousand‑dollar costs for citizens to apply for concealed‑carry permits.

New federal unit targets state gun rules

Who could have imagined this just 18 months ago? Agreed, they are not changing Federal laws as fast as I think they should either. Why not let people buy guns in any state? Why not let 18 -> 20-year-old adults buy handguns? But going after the states and D.C. makes the cases much easier because they are so egregious.
30 years ago, we expected the Feds to be going door to door by now in the process of taking AR-15s. Instead, they are taking California and DC laws and politicians into the woodshed for a long past due education.
Merry Christmas to gun owners and those who would like to own guns. A stocking with a single lump of coal for the anti-gun people.
Taking them to the woodshed? Is that where we have the wood chipper?
In case people don’t know, being taken to the woodshed was an euphemism for getting a spanking.
The wood chipper idea has potential. I certainly see the humor, but it isn’t what I had in mind.
“Lawyer’s Presence
During the Supreme Court proceedings, it is noted that Miller’s lawyer was not present. The district court had previously dismissed the charges against Miller, but the government appealed to the Supreme Court. The absence of Miller and his attorney during the Supreme Court argument was significant, as it meant that there was no counter-argument presented to challenge the government’s claims regarding the shotgun’s military utility.”
Which even without them was BS, as “trench guns”, i.e. “sawed-off shotguns” were well known and used during WWI.
Maybe the government could just start doing this in reverse? Just not show up in cases so only our side can be presented.
Save everyone a bunch of money, and the government lawyers could start going after 18 USC 241 & 242 prosecutions.
After all, they are DOJ civil rights group, right? And 2A violations are civil rights violations.
But I still don’t trust Bondi.
The democrats have been using the “not show up by the government” defense for years. File a suit for some left-wing position and rather than fight it, the Federal Government deliberately loses the case or comes to an agreement to give the other side whatever it wants.
The government didn’t lose Miller – the defendant did, because the defendant had no representation at all. No defense, no Amicus briefs, nothing.
And the defendant – Miller – predeceased the decision, so it should have been dismissed as moot.
Often wondered if there was any way to have this re-heard by the USSC due to the many errors in its conduct.

“Maybe the government could just start doing this in reverse? Just not show up in cases so only our side can be presented.”
Uh, no.
I want to know exactly where my government stands on critical issues. “Not showing up” is, at best, neutral, and if we’ve learned anything in the 20th century, “neutral” immediately begins moving Left because it will get pushed there by gobs of money from Soros, Bloomberg, the Ford Foundation, et al.
So, send in the U.S. attorneys, in force, to stand front and center and declare the government’s position on the record for all to witness.
I’m thinking the government’s position was already pretty clear after Ruby Ridge and Waco.
To say nothing of Bryan Malinowski and Lavoy Finnicum?
They have already put themselves up as judge, jury, and executioner.

You lost points for believing what a politician told you.
Honestly, you really think any of these people are going to work to ‘advance citizens rights’?
REALLY? You really believe that, after… everything?
He SWORE on the bible it was the last time he was going to get drunk and beat me. He must really mean it this time.
What a bunch of loosers…
