Scouts Could Take Canada and Mexico

Quote of the Day

US could take Canada with eight Scout Troops, a supply of Mountain Dew, beef jerky and .22LR.

Mexico is a bit more sporty. Need eight Venturing Crews with .223 AR-15s.

I suspect he is exaggerating. But he is the scout leader and would know better than I.

  1. I don’t know about much of the Canadian forces. But I did serve with them several times. Once in NORAD and a few times in the sandbox. They seemed military competent to me. Their F-18 pilots appeared to be on par with most other NATO tactical fighter pilots. Their armored infantry in their 8 wheeled piranha vehicles certainly kicked some ass in Afghanistan when we were rebuilding a hydroelectric power station. Their SOF guys were actually on par with all but our very, very best operators. I despise Turdo and their socialist government but their military has my undying respect and gratitude for standing with us in several hard spots

    • Oh, the actual Canadian troops are fine. I just don’t think their senior military or political leaders have any capacity to use them competently or in a timely manner before the Scouts parley with the populace and they decide a temporary government of kids that know to widely separate where they eat, excrete and sleep would be preferable to anything coming out of Ottawa.

The vast majority of Canada’s population lives within 50 miles of the US border, and with enough Mountain Dew in their camelbaks, the Scouts could move that distance on foot over rough terrain to be in position within 3 days before anyone knows they are there. Certainly faster than the parasitic bureaucracy of Canadian government can act.

    • Tirno kinda beat me to it, but I was going to say that Canada’s military forces might be competent, but if the civilian leadership sets the typical Leftist, military-hating, highly-restrictive Rules of Engagement, the Scout troops will be running the country before any shots are fired.

It doesn’t matter how good your skills, training, and equipment are if you’re not allowed to use any of them.

Like you, I have nothing but respect for Canada’s military service-members. But their civilian government calls the shots, and they couldn’t pour water out of a boot if instructions were on the heel.
