The Peace of the Dead

Quote of the Day

Dozens have been killed in Gaza during violent fighting Sunday and within hours of the expected release of hostages in the war-torn region, according to local reports.

According to reports via Israeli outlet Ynet, the violence erupted when Hamas militants raided the neighborhood of Sabra in Gaza City, home to a clan called Doghmush, also known as the Al Doghmush family militia.

The report said the Hamas Interior Ministry had accused a militia of attacking its forces, while members of the Doghmush clan said Hamas had exploited the ceasefire to target them over alleged cooperation with Israel.

In total, Ynet reported 52 members of the Doghmush clan were killed and 12 Hamas militants were killed.

One has to wonder, “Do these people know how to do anything other than kill people?”

This is from the “religion of peace.” I suspect the only peace they will ever see is the peace of the dead.

    • Islam is a politico-religious culture. If that sounds like a mouthful, it is. To the best of my knowledge it was the first totalitarian government conceived. I mean totalitarian in the way the inventor of the phrase, Mussolini, intended. It directs ALL matters of life, politics, philosophy and of course religion. Nothing is beyond its control. It is “totalitarian”. As such it is completely incompatible with a Constitutional Republic which uses the Scottish Enlightenment and Judeo-Christian philosophy as its basis. Jesus said “render unto Caesar what is Caesers and render unto God what is God’s “ there is no similar admonition in the Koran separating Church from state. Muslim societies are doomed to war against all others by their fundamental principles and sacred beliefs spelled out in the Koran. I spent 20 years in the military dealing with their inherent brutality and I’m beyond tired of dealing with it directly and indirectly. They’ve proven beyond a shadow of my doubt that they are unfit to join the “brotherhood” of man due to their beliefs and repeated actions. And we have no business placing US boots on the ground in Gaza unless we’re there to ethnically cleanse all Muslims from Gaza and claim it as a permanent US territory. And why the Hell would we want it?

      • Not that I wish to differ with anything you have said. As you have a lot of experience in the GWOT.
But there is another religion that acts as a political/social/philosophical manner.
In fact, it’s where Mohammed got his system. Judaism.
Islame started 600 years after Christ.
And Mo could read. Where most of the disaffected goat herds he wished to enlist could not.
He started out Christ-like. Peace, love, all that. And when that didn’t work, he decided that rape, robbery, murder, and conquest would make him all he wanted to be.
        And so it is .today
I myself look at the similarities of the two, and it becomes stark.
Soloman said to pray toward Jerusalem, no matter where you are.
Mo said to pray toward Mecca. 5 times a day.
It’s OK to take from/enslave those that are outside.
And you easily ask either of them when they tell you they are Jews or Islameites.
Are we talking about your religion or your business model?
        And neither likes pork.
The more I watch their actions, the more I see their just 2 sides of the same coin. Which hate each other one day, but do business the next to get an advantage.
Mo just spiced it up a bit. One-upped the Jews.
And there is no Judeo-Christian philosophy. We read what God did to his chosen people in the Old Testament. But we follow little of it.
        Christ wept over Jerusalem saying:
“How many times would my father have gather you under his wing, as a hen gathers her chicks. But you would not.
Threrefor, your house is left onto you desolate.”
At that point the Judeo part ended.
Does that make Christians the chosen people now?
God, I hope not. After what he did to the jews over the centuries. That would be scary.
        Sorry for going long.

  1. “Islam” means “Submission” or “Self-surrender”. Literally, that is what the word means in Arabic, stripped of any religious context, taken from the root word “al-Silm”.

Islam is the religion of peace through surrender to Allah, his prophet, his will as taken down in dictation in the Koran, and as conveyed to the illiterate by his imams (qualifications: can read Arabic and made the hajj to Mecca).

Well, if you can’t be brought to submission through conversion, they’ll take second best of submission to the sword, by death, threat of death or enslavement. It’s not just the people. The Hagia Sofia cathedral? Turned into a mosque. The Temple Mount, site of the ruins of Judaism’s original temple and earthly center of the faith? Turned into the Al-Aqsa mosque. The Gyanvapi mosque is a temple taken from the Hindus. The Jameh mosque was a Zoroastrian temple. The Parthenon in Greece was briefly turned into a mosque. The Kaaba itself, the ultimate destination of the hajj to Mecca was not built by Muslim hands; it was another faith’s holy place, which was then scrubbed out and claimed. Islam is a religion of theft.

It’s a very unpleasant kind of “peace”. It’s the peace of “we’ll stop killing, beating, stealing, raping and enslaving you when you say we’re right and never say anything else”.

    • Indeed. Years ago in Holland, a movie maker named Theo van Gogh, with the help of a politician named Ayaan Hirsi Ali, made a movie entitled “Submission” for that exact reason.
He was murdered for it, and she was driven out of the country. (She’s now in the US.)

  2. Yeah, if they can’t kill Jews they’ll kill each other. Yahya Sinwar “The Butcher of Khan Yunis” earned the title by killing Arabs as Hamas’ version of Beria. The reason he lived long enough to do that was because in the 80s he was serving a prison term in Israel for murdering an Arab moderate and the Israeli prison doctor found and treated a brain tumor.
Hamas and Fatah will happily fight each other as part of the larger Shia versus Sunni conflict.

  3. Gaza has become a nearly perfect advertisement for the neutron bomb. I’m not sure that it’s ever not been so.

Unfortunately, it’s too close to A Competent and Productive Society to employ, and multiple panties get severely and painfully wadded up when substitutes are offered, so I guess we’re stuck with whatever the Hell Gaza is. At least, until a preference threshold is crossed and the rest of the world admits failure and says “enough.”
