None of this is Agency

Quote of the Day

I’m seeing a lot of us vs them rhetoric right now.

A man was shot and the timelines lit up with tribal chest beating.

There’s a sort of engineered frenzy that tells millions of strangers to feel attacked on cue and to answer with collective blame.

People graft their sense of self onto a mass identity because it is easier than standing alone. I get it. The group supplies ready-made meaning, ready-made enemies, and ready-made scripts for grief and anger.

When something happens to a figure near that group, the borrowed self experiences it as a personal wound. The nervous system fires as if family was hit. The algorithm notices, pours gasoline, and a person forgets they are a person.

They become a role. They perform the role loudly because the role rewards them with belonging. This is how the individual dissolves.

Parasocial attachment finishes the job. A commentator speaks into your head for years and your mind, built for villages, mistakes proximity for kinship. Suddenly the stranger is “ours,” and the event is “about me,” and the most primitive circuitry takes the wheel.

Outrage feels like virtue. Blanket blame feels like clarity. Calls for payback feel like strength. None of that is agency.

Power feeds on exactly this. Political machines live on attention, emotion, and fear. They need you sorted into blocs, preferably angry ones, because angry blocs are easy to mobilize and easy to tax.

The chant writes itself: “This proves everything I already believed!”

Notice how perfect that is. One incident becomes a voucher for every preloaded narrative. Nothing new is learned, but the leash is tightened.

The class that benefits is the same class that always benefits, and it is not you.

I’ve always liked psychology and sociology.

This seems plausible.

  1. Dylan can take the pretty theories and shove them where the sun doesn’t shine! The statist left in the west has been on a violent streak, in many cases aided and abetted by “the authorities”, for decades. It’s been a run up to the next US Civil War since Trump was first elected. Nearly all of the highly publicized mass shootings, bombings and other attacks have either been conducted by Jihadists or statist progressives. It’s time to stand up. This is NOT a game but game theory is real and useful for this situation. The statist progressives will not stop until we force them to stop by either reciprocating or if the government steps in to grind the violent left into dust with alacrity. There is now a tiny sliver of time for the government to demonstrate that they are worthy of us cooperating with maintaining rule of law The clock is ticking

  2. Well, in ALL human history one could not survive without a tribe. Period. End of discussion.
Tribalism is humanity. Without a tribe you cannot have civilization let alone survive.
The only reason America exists is because were a tribe of the constitution of the UNITED STATES. Albeit a large one.
And please notice all the rest of the world accepts this and acts upon it with complete normality.
We, on the other hand are told how bad we are for acting in such a natural manner.
Always by those that want their tribe to conquer us.

    That’s because it does Dylan.
Murdering the last guy that was willing to openly and honestly debate the issues with you proves exactly what many in the communist trans-clan tribe want done to society.

Latest from MSNBC with Jasmine Crock-et.
“Everyone needs to pick up a weapon and get involved.”
As jasmine smiled and nods her head in approval.
Think they were talking to the right?
    Only their tribe.
And I would almost bet a hundred dollars to a horse turd which tribe Dylan belongs to.

  3. There is a time for solitary, one-on-one action.
There are times for team/tribe sports.
When a many smaller teams are ganging up into a super-team to target anyone like you, thoughtful rugged individualism is a one-way ticket to Darwinian failure.
We are getting close to the “tribe-up or die” stage of empire.
(Note, “tribe” in this modern day America may or may not be mono-ethnic, but it is unlikely to survive if it’s not more-or-less mono-cultural.)

  4. Outrage is not virtue. Jesus tells us to bless those who despitefuly use us. He also tells his true followers that they will be hated, mistepresented, mocked, humiliated, framed, and ultimately killed.

We know that the perpetrators are deceived. They’re like someone heading at full cruising speed toward a washed-out bridge just out of sight around the next corner, toward certain death. We jump out in the road to warn them and they only get suspicious and angry at us and flip us off, or run us over.

That’s what happened to C Kirk.
