Seriously Unconstitutional or Trolling?

Quote of the Day

Gun owners already know what it’s like for the government to penalize them for crimes they did not commit.  We shouldn’t even consider such an extreme response to heinous act committed by one disturbed individual, much less implement it, no matter how horrible the crime. The deranged Minneapolis killer is no longer a threat to anybody, and we needn’t make scapegoats of others who had nothing to do with that outrage, just to create the impression something is being done.

The ironic aspect of this controversy is that some in the liberal media are suddenly supporting gun rights because somebody in the Trump administration is talking about restricting transgenders from exercising their Second Amendment rights. Perhaps they will learn something from this.

The government, no matter who is in charge, must understand that enumerated rights protected by the Constitution cannot be stripped away for what amounts to a publicity stunt. If we allow that to happen to one minority group, it could happen to another group, and then another, until the right becomes a distant memory, especially for those of us who have worked so hard to protect it. This is a bad idea, and it needs to go away immediately.

CCRKBA: DOJ SHOULDN’T BAN GUNS FOR TRANS PEOPLE OVER INDIVIDUAL CRIMES | Citizens Committee For The Right To Keep And Bear Arms

Mark Smith has a different take, which I think is more likely. And I would not be surprised if Gottlieb also is inclined to believe Mark’s take but plays it straight to score points with the rights are for everyone concept.

The TL;DR; version from Mark is that Trump is trolling the political left to get them to proclaim gun rights are for people of all sexual orientation and the Trump administration is going to violate the constitutional rights of an oppressed minority.

Assuming Mark has the correct angle on this, I could see this causing a few heads to “explode”. If it doesn’t, it was still a good try.

  1. In this case we need to grab the popcorn and let them work. The two possibilities: Troll left and get them to proclaim 2A is for all. For now. Or even better, get these people declared clinically insane (before the closure of the state hospital system they all would have been locked up) and a serious threat to public safety goes away. It would be re implementing what was already normal.

  2. On the one hand, tans people make great wind-up toys for the CIA, and are statistically hugely over-represented in mass shootings for things like schools.

OTOH, it’s an interesting Xanatos Gambit. Either the left goes along with it because they hate guns (and sell out a core constituency, the mentally ill / hard left “anything you claim to be true is actually true and you must play along” crowd), or they fight it to defend a group that is overwhelmingly politically leftist (and then normies see them demanding that mentally ill can buy guns). They’ll likely chose the third option, and say that obviously NOBODY should have guns, and rip the mask off to the 60 percent of the theoretically-convincible moderate middle that they really ARE coming for ALL of EVERYONES guns, that they really are extremists. I.e., they lose some voters no matter how they respond.

Even talking about it, regardless of position, will force the topic and the numbers into the light for consideration.

They will lose a tiny number of votes on the right, but only a negligible number, far, FAR fewer than the left will lose. Most people are deeply uneasy on the trans issue.

    • He’s right. Trying to get a total un-biased look at the NFA over machine guns in this emotionally charged court?
      Ain’t going to happen.
Better to stop it at the lower court and be overruled later. Than have bad precedence set by SCOTUS today.
We think it’s a matter of law. But it’s not and never has been. The whole system has been making emotional based crap decisions for a 100 years now.
There is maybe 3 thinkers in the SCOTUS court. The rest are total politicians with a communist bent.

      • The problem with the, “well at least SCOTUS didn’t rule on it,” logic is they will never take the ephemeral “perfect defendant’s” case if ALL of the circuits are in agreement that MG’s can be banned.

And that’s where we’re heading and I see no reason to be happy about it at all.

        • 100%, there is nothing to be happy about in the courts of today.
And waiting just increases the likelihood of a Thomas replacement with another Barrett. Or some such. Worse case another Brown.
And trusting a lawyer or worse, a group of them with defending our rights is actually quite insane.
With none of them even willing to mentioning the words of the constitution?
But we are where we find ourselves.
I’m with you, It ain’t good.

  3. Trans is a rejection of objective reality resulting in self-inflicted harm. It is a clear sign of mental illness and dangerous ideation.

    • If it were that simple there would be effective psychological treatments. As it is there is not. The only treatment I know of that measurable reduces suicide is hormonal and surgical transitioning.

      • Trans is big biz, creating lifetime customers for pharma & co, especially if they go full surgery and drugs. The medical and psych establishment is not seriously trying to figure it out to treat/prevent any more than they are cancer (the patent treatments generates well over a hundred billion in revenue world-wide) even though it’s clear the Tibbets Protocol (cheap, few side effects, often effective) is never formally investigated… because it would nuke their bottom line.

Follow the money. (there are also spiritual aspects of it – a great deal of the Satanist imagery is trans / androgynous / both sex characteristics; a statistically unusual number of very famous people have one or more trans kids, and the speculation is they are basically making a deal; they get fame and money in exchange for transing one of their kids as a living sacrifice. No, have personal evidence, but that’s not exactly stuff they’ll publicly admit to on CNN or Oprah.)

Related: look up where the the first sex change clinics were operated, and who ran them, and how did that turn out?

A “Tibbets Protocol” is not a recognized medical, scientific, or technological term. The query is likely a misspelling of one of two distinct concepts: the Theta Burst Stimulation (TBS) protocol used in medicine or the Joe Tippens cancer protocol, a largely anecdotal and unproven alternative treatment.
          Theta Burst Stimulation (TBS) Protocol
Theta Burst Stimulation (TBS) is a treatment protocol used with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), an FDA-approved, non-invasive procedure for certain neurological and psychiatric conditions, such as depression.
How it works: TBS delivers magnetic pulses to specific areas of the brain at high speeds, mimicking the brain’s natural theta wave patterns.
          Key features:
TBS sessions are significantly shorter than traditional TMS sessions, often lasting only three minutes.
A common variant is intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS), which alternates between periods of stimulation and rest.
Medical application: In 2018, the FDA cleared the iTBS protocol for treating major depressive disorder. Research has also explored its use for other conditions like alcohol use disorder.
          Joe Tippens cancer protocol
This is a colloquial name for an unconventional, self-administered treatment that gained attention through online reports.
How it works (anecdotal): The protocol was popularized by Joe Tippens, who claimed to have cured his small-cell lung cancer with a combination of supplements, including a canine deworming medication called fenbendazole.
Common components: The protocol typically involves fenbendazole, vitamin E, and curcumin.
Medical position: This is not a scientifically proven or medically endorsed cancer treatment. The American Cancer Society and other professional medical bodies do not recommend unproven alternative therapies. Patients considering such treatments should consult a medical provider for guidance.

The world’s first sex change clinics were operated at the Institute for Sexual Science in Berlin, Germany, founded by Magnus Hirschfeld in 1919, and later at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, beginning in 1966 under the leadership of surgeon Milton Edgerton. The Berlin clinic performed early modern gender-affirming surgeries but was destroyed by the Nazis in the 1930s. The Johns Hopkins clinic closed in 1979, despite performing surgeries and treatments for years, due to internal politics and bias, though it spurred the opening of other clinics.
          Berlin, Germany (1919)
          Who ran it:
The Institute for Sexual Science was founded by Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, a physician and sexologist who advocated for LGBTQ+ rights and the study of human sexuality.
          What happened:
The institute was an academic foundation and clinic that provided medical treatment, shelter, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ people, and it performed some of the first modern gender-affirming surgeries.
          How it turned out:
The clinic and its founder’s work were destroyed by the Nazi regime in the early 1930s.
          Baltimore, Maryland (1966)
          Who ran it:
Johns Hopkins University established the first university-based Gender Identity Clinic in the United States in 1966, with surgeons like Milton Edgerton performing the early surgeries.
          What happened:
The clinic offered gender-affirming care and was the first of its kind in the U.S., which led to the opening of several other clinics across the country.
          How it turned out:
The Johns Hopkins clinic closed in 1979 due to institutional pushback, internal politics, and bias, even though its work was contradicted by evidence of the effectiveness of gender-affirming care.

      • “The only treatment I know of that measurable reduces suicide is hormonal and surgical transitioning.”

That is, unfortunately, the exact opposite of reality. Oh, it may be true in your limited personal experience, but it is not true overall. Plus, it is completely and utterly immoral to reinforce insanity, much less to force sane people to lie and go along with the insanity.

        • For simple gender dysphoria affirmation works for many. Sometimes hormones and surgery are necessary.

The problem is complex gender dysphoria coming from a underlying malady. Affirmation, hormones and surgery don’t address the real cause that’s presenting as dysphoria.

We were once pretty good at treating that underlying condition.

The problem, it seems to me, is that we have a group of activists who wish to treat every presentation of trans as something to be cherished and nurtured regardless of why the person in question looks in the mirror and sees a stranger.

Some people are just trans and not a danger or real problem for anyone.

Some people are more than trans and treating the wrong thing can make them dangerous. But successfully treating what’s wrong will make them not trans anymore and the activists won’t have it.

    • Trans has been a thing since looooong before it became the flavor of the month.

It’s gotten more visibility in the last few years, which is both good and bad. It’s definitely a real thing. But discussing things like that productively requires a great deal of nuance, and that seems to be in rather short supply. Plenty of unhelpful behavior on all sides, especially from activists, and that only serves to muddy an inherently muddled issue.

  4. Trump IS the king of trolling…and the left IS totally gullible, falling for it every time.
But seriously….trans people are mentally ill…insane. You don’t just say they can’t have guns. You LOCK THEM AWAY for their safety and the safety of all society. Something we used to do 60-70 years ago before asylums became a bad word.

    • And your sample size for your assessment is either very small or biased. I know three trans women (male -> female) and one trans man. None of them are a danger to themselves or others. The one I know best (a M -> F) has a lesbian wife, children with her (from semen banked before the transition) and they have been married for something like 8 to 10 years and are quite functional. They have a great job, own guns, a nice house, nice cars, etc. She is also the most enthusiastic Trump supporter I know.

      • So your response to a problem of selective sampling is …. anecdotal evidence of four individuals?

I would expect a gun rights organization to come out against any restrictions. That is consistent and in line with their organizational purpose. From the standpoint of pure politics though, the demographic overwhelmingly trends left, they are known to be exceptionally unstable and of those, the violent leftist ones are significantly overrepresented in political violence statistics such as in Portland Oregon.

Trantifa is a thing, and your handful of anecdotes do not outweigh the clear and obvious danger of allowing people who have fundamental foundational delusions about reality to own firearms. Do you believe that people who think they are the second coming of Jesus Christ also deserve firearms? How about people who talk to voices that they hear in their heads? Delusion is a disqualifying factor for exercising the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Politics is about punishing your enemies. That is what the Democrats have done for 60 years now, and the failure of Republicans to do so is why everything is so horrendously screwed up.

        • If someone says, “All horses are white.” A very small sample of horses with different colors is sufficient to disprove the statement.

I have not seen a response from any gun rights organizations other than trans people are citizens who enjoy the same rights as any other citizen.

The only valid criteria for stripping someone of their Second Amendment rights is, “Are they a physical threat to themselves or others?” And that must be determined in a court of law with all concerned parties represented and available for questioning by the opposing parties.

I don’t see delusions about someone believing they are a god as significantly different than someone having the delusion gods exist or do not exist. There are billions of people that must be delusional on this topic. I don’t know for certain which ones are truly delusional, and which have it close to right. Everyone could have it wrong and are delusional. Yet nearly all are not a physical threat to themselves or others.

  6. The insane are prohibited from owning firearms.
Trannies are, by their own admission, insane.

    • The ‘prohibited persons’ paradigm of the GCA is abhorrent to the idea of natural individual rights and it should not be supported.

Being adjudicated mentally defective doesn’t make an individual inherently violent, but it definitely correlates to them being targeted for violence and crime at rates far above average.

More succinctly–someone with down’s syndrome deserves the same right to armed self defense as any citizen (but are denied this right by the GCA.)

  7. Trump is trolling this one.
But It doesn’t matter what you want to be. NO WHERE in all of human history has anyone given a crap about what you want to carve yourself into.
You’re a boy that wants to be a girl? When your 18, go for it. You pay for it. You live with the consequences.
Don’t demand the rest of the world to go along with your stupidity/insanity.
Notice the shooter problems really got going when he realized he couldn’t go back and just be a kid again. And he was never going to be a real girl.
To me he looked like a fine youth. Had a future. It was the outside influence lying to him that got him to make irreversible decision at such a young age.
Decisions NO ONE, especially a child should be making before they are old enough to own their actions.
And so called adults that encourage them are satanic monsters.
If Tik-Tok has taught us anything, it’s that kids are morons. Not that we didn’t already know. (They eat Tide pods for goodness sake.) Grown-ups are little better.
And were going to start drugging and cutting on them? And taxing people to pay for it?
Hell, I would hate to work in a nursing home when all those cute “tramp stamps” start looking like you soiled yourself.
The facts are, you can’t change your gender. You can only change the way you look.
And if you can’t handle that reality? Maybe this just ain’t the world for you.
Anyone that cuts or drugs kids under 18 cause they don’t like their gender needs to be hung.
I can’t imagine how this even became a thing, outside of satanic ignorance anyway.

  8. It has been common knowledge that the left does the opposite of what Trump proposes. Trump has even said this. So this is trolling to see if the trans activists will cry for gun rights. I was amused.

As to the serious concern about extreme violence of trans people I think it is the hormones. We all know that children when they are teenagers are very hormonal and angry. Add more hormones and you have an explosive mix. Stop hormonal therapy and the problem may go away.
