Permitting laws are nothing less than a burdensome tax on law-abiding citizens who wish to self-defend. Having North Carolina become the 30th permitless carry state is something these lawmakers should be proud of. We appreciate Representative Penny’s leadership in committing to an override, and we salute all the other legislators who are resolved to end a policy that’s deeply rooted in a racist past.

    This is good news indeed. I remember when Constitution Carry became the law of the majority of the states, that wasn’t all that long ago.

    • Dork, you’re over a century late to the realization that the entire progressive movement has been super racist then entire time.

    • You never get tired of putting your ignorance and prejudice on display, do you? Or are you just a slow learner?

      I’m definitely not “woke”. And there is nothing new about my advocating for an end to gun control that disproportionally affects minorities. I have been teaching blacks and other minorities (see also here) how to shoot for many years. The racist origins of gun control laws go way back to before the country was founded. Here is some reading material.
