In the movie Tremors Burt Gummer was originally supposed to have an NRA sticker on his truck however his actor Michael Gross objected not because he refused to play an NRA member but because he said Burt was WAY too pro gun to be in the NRA
Yes, the claim appears to be true based on available information. Michael Gross, the actor who played Burt Gummer in Tremors, reportedly objected to an NRA sticker on Burt’s truck during the film’s production. His reasoning was that Burt Gummer’s extreme pro-gun stance and extensive arsenal went beyond what the NRA would typically endorse, especially in the context of the 1990s. Gross believed Burt’s character was too radical in his gun enthusiasm to align with the NRA, which might have been seen as more mainstream or cautious in comparison. This sentiment is reflected in posts found on X discussing the matter.
However, without direct confirmation from Michael Gross or primary production sources, this should be considered plausible but not definitively verified.
Back twenty years ago the quiet conversation at the gun range or late in the evening after the “women folk” had gone to bed it was commonly said, “If the politicians think dealing with the NRA is bad, they really aren’t going to like who they will have to deal with if the NRA fails.”

What he needed was a JPFO sticker.
I once had some fun with Photoshop, creating a picture of a Tesla with an AR-15 in a gun rack, and two bumper stickers: Sierra Club and JPFO.

How about NRA and ODCMP, too?
When I was in law school in the early-mid 90’s, there were two or three really radical leftists in the class with me. One of them was concerned that having a membership in the ACLU made them a target — this was when Bill Clinton was President!
Remembering a scene in M*A*S*H in which Sidney and Colonel Flagg were arguing about a soldier’s history of political organizations he had memberships with, I suggested to her that as a cover she should get a membership with the NRA as well as the ACLU. She looked at me as if I suggested she walk naked down main street at high noon.

Watching lefties get uncomfortable when you tell them that for a whole lot of people on the right, the real right, Trump -is- the moderate solution, and if things don’t get seriously course-corrected in the USA soon, then the next guy wont be nearly so nice, moderate, or subtle.
They cannot get their heads around the fact that a large segment of the population honestly like most of what he’s doing, and many of those who don’t are because he’s to much a “work within the system” sort of deal-maker, rather than a “burn it all down, after stuffing all your enemies inside and barring the door” sort of guy.

Absolutely,
Trump’s still a rich NY liberal from the 80’s. And he’ll always be one.
Him and a bunch of rich friends just saw a way to keep game going and make a few more bucks.
If not for his ego we would be killing commies by now.
Kamala guaranteed it.
But, then again, a bullet clipping your ear is always helpful in understanding who your actual friends are.

You heard the saying: “I’m a friend of Bill W”?
Well for me it’s “Burt G.”
And we don’t need no stinking 12 step programs.
But, after a fearless moral inventory, I realized I was still lite on ammo.

You can only have too much ammo if you are on fire or swimming.
IIRC, I made a Burt Gummer reference in one of my books.
