Crucial Communism Teaching Act

Quote of the Day

The House on Dec. 6 passed the Crucial Communism Teaching Act with a vote of 327–62. The bill, introduced by Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) and cosponsored by 33 members of the House, seeks to address a gap in the education system related to the history of communism.

“Communism is one of the most destructive political ideologies the world has ever seen,” Rep. Salazar said when reintroducing the bill earlier this year.

“The Crucial Communism Teaching Act is important because our youth must remember the crimes of the communists, including those inflicted upon my constituents and their families in Florida’s 27th district.”

House Overwhelmingly Passes ‘Crucial Communism Teaching Act’ | The Epoch Times

I’m shocked it passed 327-62. I expected far more legislators were in support of communism. The 62 would be an interesting list to study.

My understanding of the constitution is that Congress was not granted the power to pass this type of legislation. This power, if it exists at all, is reserved for the states.

That said, this is not the bill I’m going to take a stand on to make that case.

  1. What does she think has been being taught in schools for the past 60-100 years? If not communism?????
And you somehow believe communist indoctrinated professor class is not going to twist that up the way they do everything else?
Stacy thinking they ain’t going to put a positive spin to it?
Well class, Stalin was forced to break a few eggs in the course of making that omelet. And capitalism under the evil president Reagan destroyed a wonderful culture that was just trying to share what it had with all it’s neighbors. Just like we do here in class with all the supplies you bring from home. We make sure everyone has what they need.
    So, no one does without.
Guaranteed it ain’t going the way she thinks it will. But now it’s mandated. So it will have to be taught.
Although this should be a standard part of civics classes. History also. Could be major topics in both philosophy and psychology.
With both Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Yuri Bezmenov as required reading.
To me, it’s like mandating religion in schools. Teachers can’t seem to get read’in, write’in, and ‘rithmatic into children’s head properly. Ain’t no way in hell they going to get communism right.

  2. It would be hilarious if the commies challenged this as unconstitutional, and it became precedent to strike down many other commie-supported programs that are unconstitutional.

  3. This is a very short bill, and also short on specifics.
Were I a communist social studies curriculum developer, I could easily game this to show how communism made millions of people who hate sharing and fairness suffer. (But all the good-hearted people did just fine.)
I could describe how millions of greedy wanna be capitalists still suffer under communism while kind people are happy to do their fair share of work for the good of the community.
There needs to be a lot more detail added to this bill before it’s any use whatsoever.

  4. Since when has not having the actual authority to legislate and regulate something ever stopped a politician….or congress.
