Interesting Perspective

Quote of the Day

Right now, this very moment is a very complicated time for gun violence prevention activists because with Biden in the White House, the media does not want to aid us in demanding stronger gun reforms because whatever Joe Biden does is suddenly the right thing to do.

When Donald Trump was the president, calling for an assault weapons ban and saying that the measures that he was putting in place were not nearly enough was a very popular opinion. Now if you’re calling for an assault weapons ban, suddenly you’re just an angry leftist who will never be happy with anything.

Sometimes it is easy to believe that your political team is disorganized, ineffective, lazy, corrupt, and/or uncaring about your primary political objectives. It is good to know that your political opponents have the same belief about their team.

There is a good chance both set of beliefs are valid.

    • “angry leftist…” = slippery slope. Which any mindful pro RKBA supporter has known for decades.

  1. Cameron should have a chat with Cindy Sheehan and find out how welcome Code Pink was once Obama got into office.

It’s not entirely a lefty thing. The NRA gets remembered for half a year by Republicans once every four years. That’s why the SAF and CCRKBA exist, so things can get done the other 3.5 years.

  2. Yup, and all a meaningless distraction for the cover of a financial meltdown.
And the removing of America as the world hegemon.
The easiest way to destroy a country as armed as ours? Is to invade it with 14 different tribes then turn off civilization. Even for a little bit.
And the whole thing unwinds. It wipes itself out, and it doesn’t get back up for a long, long time.
Inside a year it will be about who can still feed and arm their tribe. Which will turn out to be Chinese and Mexican cartels.
Gun control and voting haven’t mattered in a long time now. There as relevant as CBS news and the demanding mommies of gun control to your life.
Ruthlessness, that’s what’s relevant. And our refusal to see it for what it is. Remember, they only want to disarm you. Mr.& Mrs. Deplorable. While their friends murder you at will.
Think maybe they will let Trump win so as to blame it all on conservatives? Why not?
And the MSM will still be tell us our assault weapons are racist while savage hoards are dealing drugs to your sons, raping your wives and daughters, and making us watch before they murder us.
Is anyone thinking of giving up their guns at this point? No matter who’s in office?
Didn’t think so. BFYTW, they can write whatever they want. And elect whomever they want. After Joe Biden a monkey could do the job.
And that appearance of incompetence is what we will blame it all on. Instead of the ruthless, that have names and addresses.
Sorry, I get ranty these days.

  3. Different scale of coherence.

The conservative side is highly granular. Or perhaps amorphous, in a materials science sense.

The progressive left has much higher short-range cohesion, but the “grain size” for specific issues – e.g. guns – is quite small compared to the whole. Or, polycrystalline, often with significant lattice mismatches at the grain boundaries.

    Neither is a single crystal.
