I do: there’s also the belief that we’re actually more secure. Many government safety policies strike me as spending money to accelerate the velocity within a circular path, while societal trends continue uninhibited on their original course. I find that the belief most difficult to pry from those with statist tendencies is that it is actually possible for a government to do on a grand scale the things it promises.
