Because the Senate told them they are going to have to abide by the Second Amendment the D.C. City Council now wants the district to become a state. Do they think that will change things? Just because Alabama and Mississippi are states doesn’t mean they can disregard the 13th Amendment.

Personally, I think that if they want representation they should find a state to use eminent domain and absorb them, if that’s constitutional. Although it remains to be seen who would want a city infested with politicians and lawyers and a crime rate that makes New Jersey look relatively crime free as a part of their state.
