Another Gun Law Bites the Dust

Illinois judge rules state’s gun ban and registry unconstitutional

An Illinois judge declared the state’s gun ban and registry law unconstitutional on Friday.

The ruling by Macon County Judge Rodney Forbes means the law, signed by Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker in January, cannot be enforced and is now awaiting an appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court.

Pritzker signed the assault-style weapons ban on Jan. 10 after being passed in both the state Senate and House. The bill banned the sale, delivery, and purchase of so-called ” assault weapons,” as defined by the bill, which categorizes more than 100 different types of rifles, shotguns, and pistols to be banned, and anyone with these types of weapons would be required to register them by Jan. 1, 2024.

Another one bites the dust.

You know what this means, right?

More liberal tears to lubricate our guns.

  1. And what will the penalties for passing an illegal/unconstitutional/unethical law be?

    • The penalties will be the same as they been for many years. See 18 USC 242 for the details. The chances of prosecution will also be the same as they have been for many years, asymptotically close to zero.

      • Yes, but wouldn’t a refusal to prosecute be a violation of 241?
        Conspiracy to deprive rights?
If nothing else a nice contempt charge would be a wonder to behold.
We need a new class of offences for politicians. “Contempt of Constitution.”
        Death penalty.

  2. I don’t want liberal tears as gun lubricant! Might as well use acid. Which is what that stuff is. Their alternate approach to dealing with gun bans is to cry a river of those tears and dissolve the guns. It’s their secret weapon because they have nothing else! We’re comfortable with our small dicks and short height sitting on a stack of Supreme Court decisions while we drive our big trucks and have our guns to compensate. What do they have? Rending of garments (which none of us want to see) and liberal tears.

I am sure a creative manufacture will sell Breakfree CLT (Concentrated Liberal Tears) solvent and lubricant but I want to see the six month and 1 year reviews on that before I consider it. Not interested in waking up and finding my semi-autos have decided to transition to bolt actions and my 30 round magazines have decided to have floorplate surgery to shorten their springs in obedience to the new liberal woke agenda.

No, I prefer to see that stuff hit the ground and have nature filter it out. Too dangerous to mess with in large quantities as the past 80 odd years have demonstrated. Only when we can refill Lake Mead with them lining the shoreline will I consider the stuff safe for use on my guns.

  3. Meanwhile, Washington is rushing theirs through.

Wondering what percentage of Democratic legislators are ‘useful idiots’ vs those who are evil. And does it really matter?
