Quote of the day—Jason Rantz

With the new year, comes New Year’s resolutions. For many, they’re finally taking their mental health care seriously. Or, at least, pretending to. Some Seattleites are complaining they can’t find therapists who meet their woke requirements.

The new requirement for some is that their mental health care provider shares their “intersectional identities.” But some are speaking out after not being able to find a therapist with the same gender identity and race.

Welcome to the burgeoning woke movement of segregated health care.

Rantz: Seattleites complain they can’t find woke therapists for segregated health care
[Remember all the strife about desegregation in the 1960s and 1970s? As a reminder here is what Senator Joe Biden said about school busing to achieve desegregation in 1977:

My children are going to grow up in a jungle, the jungle being a racial jungle with tensions having built so high that it is going to explode at some point.

There were court battles for many years to force men only organizations to accept women (most recently, you should remember the Boy Scouts were forced to accept girls).

The political left has now changed their minds. Now they want segregation by race and gender with “gender identity” thrown in as a bonus. As I have said before, people can be very creative in the justification of their irrationality.

It doesn’t take much imagination to assert the hypothesis they are doing this to create divisiveness and destruction rather than expecting there to be some societal benefit to their demands.—Joe].

  1. My uncharitable reaction is that it’s not a big deal because those people are incurable anyway.

    • Along the same lines there is Niven & Pournelle’s famous quote (from “Oath of Fealty”): “Think of it as evolution in action”.

    • Anyone can be incurable when they don’t actually want to be cured.

Or maybe they know there is something wrong, and they want to be cured, but they’re not willing to get treated by someone that will tell them “you are doing this to yourself. Stop it.

  2. Perhaps they need woke therapists because normies would recognize their actual mental health issues and treat them accordingly.

  3. Where are all those head shrinks they used to justify trans-ing gender in the first place? Aren’t they available? (If they ever existed.)
I mean Oregon says it’s OK for a 14 year old to trans without their parents permission. Where are all the expert shrinks that told Kate the C–t that it is a good policy and not child abuse?
The nice thing about the state of professionalism today is that you can get what you pay for. Try Paypal and Sype. I’m sure they could find someone to dress the part and tell them what them want to hear. (As your not allowed to tell them anything else.)
Or the cheap version would be to just treat drag queen story hour like an AA meeting?

  4. Let me see if I understand this;
“If I had a broken leg, I’d never trust anyone but a broke-legged doctor to set it.” Is that about it? So you want a doctor who is suffering from the same maladies as you, so you can get together and reinforce one another’s rationalizations for retaining your maladies.

Or maybe it’s more like, “If I’m suffering from the pain of a broken leg, I only want the pain meds, and I only want them prescribed to me by a doctor who has a broken leg.”

  5. Reality certainly is unkind. Truthful, but unkind. Maybe with enough difficulty finding deviance reinforcement, they might actually need to learn why their behaviors were correctly considered deviant in the first place. The other option would be to let nature takes its course until these mentally self handicapping people figure out, on their own, how to actually function in society (that is to stop focusing on totally irrelevant issues that contribute nothing to society) or perish. Nature can be a harsh schoolmaster but some people refuse to learn any other way.
