I don’t care how old you are. No one needs a semi-automatic rifle just as no one needs a handgun.

Comment to Why our blue state is more red when it comes to guns
[It appears to me that the 17 students murdered in Florida needed someone with a gun to defend them.
It is not a Bill of Needs. It is a Bill of Rights. Furthermore, as SCOTUS explained:
This is not a right granted by the Constitution. Neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence. The second amendment declares that it shall not be infringed…
The right to keep and bear arms is a natural right and will be defended just a vigorously, if not more so, as if the government were infringing the First Amendment.
Don’t ever let anyone get away with telling you no one wants to take your guns.—Joe]
No one needs to be set up as our “Need Police” either, but there certainly are a lot of people who want that job.
Once the idea is established and tolerated, the question of who needs to live and who doesn’t pops right up. We’re already being told we don’t need to defend our lives. From there it’s a VERY small step to determining that certain people don’t need to live.
Here’s Progressive darling, George Bernard Shaw spelling it out, and giving the reason why state-enforced mass death would be a good thing;
“Just put them there” he says, and ask them “Sir, or Madame, would you please be so kind as to justify your existence?”
Just put them there (before the death panel). But how do you get them there if they can defend themselves?
This is very simple. Strip away all the lies and false pretenses, all the play acting and fake tears, the tactical emotions and the tactical pleas for “the children”, all the scare tactics using crime as a political tool, and there’s one, singular reason for disarmament;
He that wants you disarmed wants you dead.
He that wants to decide what you need and expropriate the rest will quickly decide you don’t need to live.
So long as we play along, pretending that Progressivism, or anything resembling it, is or ever was anything other than a robbery and murder cult, we will continue to be shocked and surprised at every “stupid” (yet entirely predictable) thing it does, and we’ll never be rid of that system.
It’s not that surprising when some random kid tweets a message like that.
It’s a whole lot more disturbing when a formerly respected supposed retired military officer like Ralph Peters says basically the same (as quoted in a WSJ op-ed by Peggy Noonan).
This nandemosan creature may rest assured that I will give this statement all due consideration.
Of course, that means I’ll need to budget to purchase at least two firearms for National Buy-A-Gun Day….
I declare that nandemosan is contributing too much carbon dioxide to the planet’s atmosphere. s/he serves no useful purpose anyway, and no one needs him. Off with s/his head!
