Bill Clinton

In an interview discussing his support for arming the Libyan rebels, Bill Clinton was quoted:

“We’re trying to build a world in which people resolve their differences
in nonviolent ways,” he said. “And we’re trying to build a world where
no ruler can cavalierly kill its unarmed civilians
.”

I think we’re working for the same goal.

  1. “We’re trying to build a world in which people resolve their differences in nonviolent ways,” he said. “And we’re trying to build a world where no ruler can cavalierly kill its unarmed civilians.”

And he said this perhaps without even the slightest awareness of the irony. I knew Clinton was shameless, but…damn.

  2. Unless you’re a little girl trapped in Waco, right Bill? By the way, Mr. Clinton, I see your spouse’s war is going as well as yours did in Somalia.

  3. This is from a former president who basically waged war on gun owners for his entire 8 years, not always figuratively. He acted as if political organizations built around gunowners’ rights were terrorist groups, or at least fronts for terrorist groups like the Sinn Fein Party in Northern Ireland.

It’s well past time for someone to publish a full expose of the Clinton administration based not on how many blue dresses he ruined, but rather on his hate campaign against a third of the American populace, based on little more than his own weird prejudices and those of his aides.

Of course, the official GOP won’t be the ones to do the expose. For most of the Clinton years, they were either actively or passively supporting his anti-gun war; after all, their “consultants” told them that gun owners were unpopular and oh-so-retro. They needed to “distance” themselves, because, let’s face it people, gun control was the Wave of the Future, and we didn’t want to miss out on the future, did we? This expose would be rather damning toward Republicans in Congress who sold out on this issue.

I might add that this expose would be useful not only for 2A activists, but also for national security specialists, because it would detail how Clinton’s focus on “gun culture” as as supposed source of domestic terrorism caused him to ignore the real threat from al-Qaeda. Basically, Clinton was fighting a cold war against his own people, and it caused him to ignore the increasingly hot war against bin Laden.

  4. Since we’re presumably arming the Libyans with AK’s, can we safely assume that Slick Willie wants to do away with the Hughes Amendment?

  5. Nah, we’re probably only sending over semi-auto ones. If we give them the good weapons, that will only come back to haunt us when the worm turns & we start fighting the rebels.

  6. @ publius, “Nah, we’re probably only sending over semi-auto ones.”

does that mean the ATF is conducting another sting operation?
