Quote of the day–Blue

It’s the immortal truth of Con Law: conservative decisions are provisional while liberal decisions are eternal.

Comment to Justice Ginsburg: Supreme Court may eventually overrule Heller.
[Certainly that is the way the liberals like to think of it and the conservatives fear it is. I’m not so sure that is reality however. Heller, the (soon to be) McDonald victories and many others in the pipeline will make it difficult for liberals to undermine the right to keep and bear arms for a long, long time.–Joe]

  1. The nature of man would have to change in a miraculous way for the answer to “Just One Question” to be positive.

The failure of the Left is to attribute maximal goodness to mankind – themselves in particular and find themselves practicing the worst kinds of tyrannies to make their dream come true (proving that it is NOT so).

The Failure of the Right is to believe that the Left will not do this time and again. The Right believes that man is flawed and therefore some governance (agreement among folks to watch each other’s backs) and yet does not watch the Leftists, thinking them children. Problem children with power and control can be very dangerous.

  2. in view of all the back doors left ajar in the Heller decision, I think we may be premature in celebrating a victory in McDonald.
