Quote of the Day
Layoffs hit NBC News this week with the network division facing cuts ahead of Comcast’s spinoff of Versant. About 150 jobs have been eliminated so far which only represents 7% of the total newsroom staff. However, the company has been less forthcoming on where the jobs are being cut: The majority of layoffs are targeting Diversity and Equity teams.

This is supporting evidence for some of my claims that there are big changes happening in this country regarding racial and sex discrimination.
“Go woke, go broke” is more than a slogan. It is reality. One could say there is a new meaning to “becoming woke”.
I hope this doesn’t go too far. Just as the political left pushed the pendulum too far, the right could do the same thing in the other direction. Backlash can be hazardous to everyone’s health.
What “too far backlash” are you worried about?
As far as I’m concerned, any and all DEI staff becoming jobless is a Very Good Thing.
Federal law banning abortion. Federal laws discriminating against non-Christians. Federal law banning all sexual transitions. Federal law banning gay marriage.
If you had to choose between those things, and losing guns rights, having ALL financial transactions tracked, and getting deplatformed or stripped of one “right” or another for saying the wrong thing or criticizing the wrong group, which would you pick?
You may have to. The pendulum is swinging, and the left wants you dead. They are happy that you can kill your children, sterilize yourself, and become a genetic dead end; they HUNGER for those things because they are dis-civilizational and reduces the population of western nations and their peoples. They can then claim the need for more imported labor because of “worker shortage,” and replace you. The fact that you support their efforts to genocide you and replace you with low-IQ and low-trust foreigners is…. odd.
You are totally nuts if you think I support them or you think there is only one extreme or the other.
I am not saying that those positions are ideologically polar opposites that cannot coexist. I am saying that there are precious few viable candidates with a reasonable chance of success who are pro gay marriage, pro transing kids, and pro in utero child murder, who are also pro gun, pro financial privacy, and seriously pro free speech. Ergo, if you can’t have both, you must choose (or don’t vote and let others choose for you).
The pendulum is swinging. People are sick of their kids being groomed in public schools and college, aggressive trans activists, marriage and motherhood being denigrated, and their Christian faith being routinely criticized. We either go more trad, or the West and all it’s freedoms (like gun rights, privacy, and free speech) falls.
God wins in the end, but the road to that end can be dark and ugly, or somewhat better.
Who said anything about pro sexual transitioning of children? And you don’t have to “pro” anything to think something is outside the bounds of the U.S. Constitution enumerate powers and whatever party is in power has no business claiming such power for the government. You don’t have to disagree that Christians are being discriminated against to assert that non-Christians should not be discriminated against. Etc.
And criticized and/or denigrated certain classes of people is not something any government at any time should be in the business of making illegal. And if it does, then people in such a government deserve to fall from power and be prosecuted under 18 USC 242, just like those that have made the possession of the most popular guns in the country illegal. That, as I said in my post, is what could happen if the Republicans push too far. Or if necessary, in the extreme case, violently removed from power.
This is a complicated topic, and really deserves a long-form response. I’ll email you. Give me a few days.
I am a piss poor Christian who doesn’t attend church nearly often enough. Having said that, Jesus was a marvelous teacher, Rabbi in Hebrew, He said: “If you have no sword, sell your coat and buy one…”. Which I’m eternally grateful for in arguing with anti-gunners who claim to be Christian. He also said: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” The Golden Rule, I’ve heard it called. Let’s scrap all the racist, man hating DEI bull$hit and follow the Golden Rule.
If you think about it, the Golden Rule has it wrong.
Suppose I want all women to sexual expose themselves to me. According to The Golden Rule, I should then sexual expose myself to all women.
Clearly, every rule has a few exceptions. Even laws of physics break down at the subatomic level and we throw out the logical laws of physics and start talking about magical entanglements and duality of being both matter and energy simultaneously. Do we even need to discuss Herr Schrödinger’s sorta undead feline? If you want a religious absolutist, find a Moslem.
I would expect a god to do better than that. Even the following is better:
“When appropriate, do unto others as they want you to do to them.”
“Suicide by cop” is the first thing that came to mind. Who determines what is “appropriate”?
The “reasonable man” test comes to mind.
“If you think about it, the Golden Rule has it wrong.”
Unless you read about 5-10 paragraphs each side on Matthew 7,12.
Then you might realize it’s not a rule at all.
Anymore than not “casting your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot. And turn and rend you.” Is a rule.
The only rules from God are the 10 commandments. And under Christ were to use discernment in all our dealings.
That’s why “turning the other cheek” is not at odds with “sale your coat and buy a sword.”
Thus concludes my sermon for today.
Hope that helps!
I do sometimes wonder, from a constitutionality perspective, how anti-discrimination laws won out over the right to free association. Public services are one thing, but private clubs?
There are still single sex universities right?
Why do they get a pass?
Why can’t I have a men only club?
I have wondered the same things.
Ever hear of the Hells Angels?
“You will own nothing and be happy.” But you can’t take everything away all at once or you’d fight it.
It’s all part of the same program to give you the illusion of choice, while slowly stripping you of rights, freedoms, etc., via twisting words, nice sounding platitudes, incremental changes with sketchy logic built one on another.
Surely anyone familiar with the incremental slippery slope that’s been used to try to strip gun rights can see it being used everywhere else? And of course, they gaslight you into saying “that’s not what we want, just this one thing! Don’t be so paranoid!”
“The majority of layoffs are targeting Diversity and Equity teams.”
That makes sense. After all, for any business, employees should perform one of two basic functions: they should perform tasks that add to the bottom line, or they should perform tasks that are “force multiplyers” for those who add to the bottom line. DEI teams, as best I can tell, do neither.
