As I expected, the number of data points and the error bands are narrowing with each passing day:
‘I had enough of his hatred’: Charlie Kirk suspect’s texts with roommate shed light on motive
Prosecutors shared new details about the attack in an information document – a formal accusation filed by a prosecutor – including the alleged text exchanges between Robinson and his roommate, which shed light on a possible motive.
On September 10, the roommate received a text from Robinson which said, “drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard,” according to the documents.
The note allegedly stated: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”
Prosecutors shared the following text exchange that allegedly took place:
After reading the note, the roommate replied: “What?????????????? You’re joking, right????”
Robinson: I am still ok my love, but am stuck in orem for a little while longer yet. Shouldn’t be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you.
Roommate: you weren’t the one who did it right????
Robinson: I am, I’m sorry
Roommate: I thought they caught the person?
Robinson: no, they grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing. I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. Its quiet, almost enough to get out, but theres one vehicle lingering.
Roommate: Why?
Robinson: Why did I do it?
Roommate: Yeah
Robinson: I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it.
Roommate: How long have you been planning this?
Robinson: a bit over a week I believe. I can get close to it but there is a squad car parked right by it. I think they already swept that spot, but I don’t wanna chance it
Robinson: I’m wishing I had circled back and grabbed it as soon as I got to my vehicle. … I’m worried what my old man would do if I didn’t bring back grandpas rifle … idek if it had a serial number, but it wouldn’t trace to me. I worry about prints I had to leave it in a bush where I changed outfits. didn’t have the ability or time to bring it with. … I might have to abandon it and hope they don’t find prints. how the f*** will I explain losing it to my old man. …only thing I left was the rifle wrapped in a towel. … remember how I was engraving bullets? The f***in messages are mostly a big meme, if I see “notices bulge uwu” on fox new I might have a stroke alright im gonna have to leave it, that really f***ing sucks. …judging from today I’d say grandpas gun does just fine idk. I think that was a $2k scope ;-;
Robinson: delete this exchange
Robinson: my dad wants photos of the rifle … he says grandpa wants to know who has what, the feds released a photo of the rifle, and it is very unique. Hes calling me rn, not answering.
Robinson: since trump got into office [my dad] has been pretty diehard maga.
Robinson: Im gonna turn myself in willingly, one of my neighbors here is a deputy for the sheriff.
Robinson: you are all I worry about love
Roommate: I’m much more worried about you
Robinson: don’t talk to the media please. don’t take any interviews or make any comments. … if any police ask you questions ask for a lawyer and stay silent
The information document provides the most insight into the suspect’s alleged motive yet, and details how Robinson had “started to lean to the left,” according to his mother.
His mom told investigators that Robinson had become “more pro-gay and trans-rights orientated” in recent years and that he had began to date his roommate, “a biological male who was transitioning genders,” the document states.
It resulted in “discussions” with family members, “especially between Robinson and his father, who have very different political views.”
“In one conversation before the shooting, Robinson mentioned that Charlie Kirk would be holding an event at UVU, which Robinson said was a ‘stupid venue’ for the event,” the document states. “Robinson accused Kirk of spreading hate.”
As a manhunt was underway, Robinson’s parents recognized their son in the surveillance images circulated by the FBI. The suspect’s father believed the rifle used in the shooting matched a weapon that was given to his son as a gift.
He texted his son and asked him to send him a photo of the rifle, the document said. When Robinson did not respond, his father spoke to him over the phone where his son allegedly “implied that he planned to take his own life.”
His parents persuaded their son to meet at their home, where “Robinson implied he was the shooter and stated that he couldn’t go to jail and just wanted to end it,” prosecutors allege.
“When asked why he did it, Robinson explained there is too much evil and the guy [Charlie Kirk] spreads too much hate,” the document states.
“Too much evil and …. too much hate”? That is an interesting claim from Robinson. I have not spent more than a minute or two of listening to and/or reading Kirk’s works. But the evidence clearly shows Robinson has the unsurmountable lead on evil and hate in the Kirk v. Robinson contest.
Projection and insults is the best they have so it is not surprising as they are losing political power, they crank the dial up on the only tools they know how to use.
I would like to think that the error bands are tightening on the range of viable conspiracy theories. But my experience is the crazies can always escape the constraints of reality.
Projection is a major talent of the loony left. The world they live in is nothing by projection, inversion, lies, and hate. “Spiteful mutants,” indeed.
Speaking of the “old man” who tried to cover his escape (debatable whether spontaneous or part of a organized effort to help a conspiracy get their patsy / wind-up toy away safely, but that’s another tangent), this just popped up about him.

Quite a stellar team the left seems to be made up of. The wicked far left is running the Dem party, and a lot of people are walking away from it. If they don’t get the radicals under control soon, the Dem party will functionally cease to exist outside of prison and the psych wards.
With respect to wickedness and evil, this meme seems to capture a new take on Pascal’s Wager: https://m3.gab.com/media_attachments/12/89/dc/1289dc17aaab7ad97dfc56936d829abc.png?width=568
“If they don’t get the radicals under control soon, the Dem party will functionally cease to exist outside of prison and the psych wards.”
Sounds ripe for a rebranding.
Arkhamists maybe?
Your first mistake was accepting the narrative given to you by the people that committed his murder.
It is the media he consumed
Sounds like ChatGPT wrote that. I have a GenZ daughter, and that is not the language of a GenZ’er. Or even a millennial, for that matter. I want to see the chain of custody on that document.
Agreed. That doesn’t look like anything written by a young adult these days. Likely a plant / misdirection / fake. By whom, and why exactly, I don’t know.
the conspiracy crazies (I might be one) will say that the evidence presented has been manufactured, i.e. don’t believe what the government provides as info.
I take it as good info at this time. But there have been a few details that I can’t buy. The rifle is a Mauser action rifle from his grandfather. Supposedly he removed the barrel, smuggled it up to the roof, reinstalled the barrel and then removed the barrel to leave, before putting the barrel back on to stash it. Anyone familiar with guns knows you don’t remove a mauser barrel by hand and reinstall and properly headspace it by hand. Also the picture of the gun had the scope mounted as far back as possible, a great way to get a black eye with a medium weight rifle in 30-06.
And then there is the shot. Was he a practiced marksman? I know you understand long range hits on small targets but it is a skill that demands practice. He could certainly have done it but a 4 to 5 inch target at 200 yds with an older 06 is not an easy shot for someone how was only an occasional shooter.
It boils down to, I don’t trust the government to give the truth. Thier track record supports that skepticism.
Also they have a very strong incentive to lie.
Even if it isn’t a coverup/cover story…the government’s security, however little there was, failed to prevent it & if they further fail to catch some kind of culprit they look really, really bad and they know it. Is this a case of “round up the usual suspects?” I don’t know. In my opinion though there are a few details that strike me as slightly weird, there was some obvious (too obvious?) bungling in the beginning and the overall story just feels slightly too perfect.
Am I over-analyzing it? Probably. Does the government lie all the time? Absolutely. I accept that the government is untrustworthy, it probably always will be, I don’t know the truth, I may never know, and for purposes of living my life none of that matters anyway so for the most part it isn’t worth worrying about overly much.
I’m with John S. on this one. It sounds pretty AI/made for public consumption.
“In a text exchange, Tyler Robinson mentioned that the scope on his grandfather’s rifle was a “2K dollar scope.”
Who puts a $2,000.00 dollar scope on a 100 year old/ $200 dollar rifle?
Now Mauser actions are highly prized especially with the older guy crowd.
So it could very well be one that has been “smithed”.
By them saying “old Mauser” could be just government ignorance of firearms.
By pulling the action screws. He would still have about 30″ to conceal.
Here’s where it gets bad.
The government reported the cartridges were still in the magazine. (He could have left the empty in the chamber.)
But by taking the action screws out, the cartridges in the magazine would have dumped.
But they said the cartridges were in the magazine of the gun?
Magazine fed gun?
OK, but old Mauser’s are controlled round feed. Not sure they work with new style magazines for customizable stocks? Most custom Mauser’s use the same floor plate/magazine well and spring for reliability in hunting.
Either that or Jr had a bunch of time on his hands. Someone not trained and experienced at murder would have a hell of a time doing all those things, under the adrenaline that he would have been pumping after his first human murder.
What do I know. Maybe the drugs really are that good these days?
YOU are with John?
Are wolves now sleeping with sheep? Is Hamas giving pensions to families of injured and killed IDF soldiers? Are there 10 day cruises on sale for visits to the Alpha Centauri system?
My worldview has just exploded. I am no longer certain what reality is.
Been trying to tell you it’s all delusion, buddy.
But why not? We’re both trolls, right?
And I hate to break it to you, but Alpha Centauri was created by the same guy that created this place.
I’m thinking different place, same problems. Or worse. So, maybe not a good place to vacation?
No fear, he’ll go off the tracks again soon.
And the world will be right again.
I for one am going to go buy a lottery ticket. Clearly the stars are aligned in some very bizarre way….
Na, when you say something straight even for possibly the wrong reasons.
I ain’t afraid to call it.
Certainly a very lot of unanswered questions. It will be very interesting if, at trial, the prosecution has Ring video or some such showing Robinson in the area near where the rifle was found but at a later time in the day. Some evidence is usually held pretty close until it can be used so we may not see anything like this but it would make an interesting tie to the purported text string. However, if there is DNA evidence as claimed, it will be pretty hard to dispute the current story and other such (the texts) evidence may never be presented. As for why put a $2k scope on an very old rifle, never under estimate the emotional state of a person who used that rifle for years and likely had good hunting success with it and wanted to make it even “better” for someone he thought would appreciate it as much as he himself did. And I do recall reading somewhere that the barrel was not the original barrel. Still, someone who holds onto a weapon like that to pass it on is not very likely to be popping prairie dogs at 400 yds or enjoying a day at Boomershoot so will not understand the nuances of longer range shooting. It seems that this particular rifle was simply available to the accused shooter who may have been lucky in his shot or may actually have spent some time working with that rifle out in the Southern Utah desert.
One really big question for me however is how did he know about the vantage point on the roof? It seems, from what I have seen/read, that he determined to shoot Kirk only about a week before. If that is true, how many times during that week, or if that planning time frame is not accurate, how many times before did he scout the UVU campus looking for an effective line of sight where he could also be somewhat concealed in both approach, action and exit? If there can be no evidence found of him personally scouting the campus, it leads to a very strong possibility that he had some unknown/unnamed expert assistance. How is that for feeding another conspiracy theory line?
